Why should I know this?

We turn various online educational contents (such as Wikipedia, for example) into ZIM files, and these can be opened by Kiwix even if you have no connectivity whatsoever.

https://flathub.org/apps/org.kiwix.desktop

The ZIM file format is an open file format that stores website content for offline usage.[1] The format is defined by the openZIM project, which also supports an open-source ZIM reader called Kiwix. The format is primarily used to store the contents of Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects, including articles, full-text search indices and auxiliary files.[2][3]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZIM_(file_format)

Edit:

All content files are indexed and compressed in ZIM format, which makes them smaller, but leaves them easy to search and selectively decompress.

The ZIM files are then opened with Kiwix, which looks and behaves like a web browser, or with a suitably enabled conventional browser. Kiwix offers full text search, tabbed navigation, and the option to export articles to PDF and HTML.[8]

Here's one way to help: https://kiwix.org/en/about-us/#our-story

Download Wikipedia to your own device. If it's ever blocked or taken down you still have access and can help share information with others.

You can download different versions (e.g. without images) and different languages based on your needs.

There's other resources available via kiwix as well but I've not really explored them to be honest

I wish Reform were Tories 2.0!

New Labour are Tories 2.0.

Reform are UKIP 2.0, which was BNP 2.0 without being so blunt about their intentions.

However, a source with knowledge of the police’s early planning for this Saturday’s event said: “If they think that by turning up with significant numbers that we can’t arrest them for breaking terrorism laws, they need to think again.

“They will be arrested. However we have to do it, they will be arrested for breaking terrorism laws.”

I thought our prisons were full? Early release for real criminals but plenty of space for retired teachers, priests, and magistrates?

Capitalism is an economic system based on the private ownership of the means of production and their use for the purpose of obtaining profit.[a] This socioeconomic system has developed historically through several stages and is defined by a number of basic constituent elements: private property, profit motive, capital accumulation, competitive markets, commodification, wage labor, and an emphasis on innovation and economic growth.[b] Capitalist economies tend to experience a business cycle of economic growth followed by recessions.[13]

Capitalism doesn't love you. It's just an economic system. No need to defend it like it's your mother.

I'm not who you responded to but presumably because it's currently ranked the 29th most corrupt country in the world (out of 180). With a CPI score of 23 (where 100 is very clean and 0 is very corrupt).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_Corruption_Perceptions_Index

The UK, in comparison, ranks as the 160th most corrupt country in the world with a CPI score of 71. So we're not perfect either but we're considerably better than Bangladesh.

But Ms Chowns believes the focus should remain on the "effective political electoral party" that already exists.

Effective?

What has the Green Party of England and Wales achieved?

Apart from an increase in transphobia of course.

The Scottish Greens managed to get into government, the English/Welsh Greens are lucky to get more than 1 MP.

If you have a vote in this leadership election, vote for Polanski. Get a fucking left alliance, not more division.

In normal times I would agree.

But this "Labour" party have shown themselves to care not one jot for liberalism.

From the arming of a genocidal state, to making their membership numbers a secret, to proscribing non-terrorist organisations, vastly increasing the surveillance of the internet, and now threatening crackdowns on VPNs.

According to this, the minimum and maximum a teacher can make is roughly the same as a fresh recruit officer to an officer in post for 6 years. A teaching job requires a degree, has an incredibly high turnover rate, and doesn't get extra pay boosts like the police.

An increase in social care, education, and the welfare state reduces crime better than extra heavies on the street, and yet those things are not being funded. Instead 3,000 extra officers will be locking up retired priests, teachers, and magistrates.
