MTG is more clear than Empty G. There isn't a lot of overlap between politics and ridiculously expensive card games, use context clues to figure out which one people are discussing.

Some people don't want to come off as really crass and aggressive. I don't understand why people get so offended by polite language. It's not a religious thing, plenty of religious people swear up a storm.

My dad was in the army, so he was no stranger to swearing. My parents weren't strict or religious when I was growing up. I just didn't like how harsh and, frankly, how stupid swears sounded, so I decided not to use them.

People like to say "you can swear on the internet", but just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do it. The people on the internet are every bit as real as people off the internet and words can cause a whole lot of hurt. Why not make the internet a more friendly and inviting place?

Does it really hurt anyone that this person edited this post to match their personality better? Why is this even a big deal?

I use the default PWA for my instance and whenever I go back to my home page it acts like I am logged out until I reload the page. It gets old fast because it switches me from subscribed to local posts. I may finally cave and seek out a dedicated app in the hopes it works more smoothly.

The Boring Company is alive and well in Texas, they just held a job recruiting event a few weeks ago.

That's when you put butter in the sauce to stick to the butter on the pasta.

They were so much more expensive than Pandora when I tried them out and the free tier was too awful to want to reward them with my money, so I did pay but it went to a competitor. Their music recommendations were terrible compared to Pandora, too.

I don't use Pandora now though, they got bought by SiriusXM who I will never pay again after they made cancelation such a difficult process.

Sarcasm in person generally comes with a distinctive tone of voice, facial expressions, and body language that are lacking in text-only communication. If people know you well enough in a text chat, they can often make assumptions about your seriousness based on what they know of your beliefs, but we are on an anonymous message board here. The people here have no experience with whether or not you are naive or a jokester or seriously confused. There's a reason it became standard to mark sarcasm on reddit with /s, it is the simplest replacement for the missing tone and body language context that would go along with a statement if we were communicating face to face.

Thoughts aren't crimes, actions are. Everyone has intrusive thoughts at some point or another. If you are going to criminalize thoughts alone, you might as well condemn all of humanity.

I don't think many people are bothered by cheese making videos, the basic gist is dumping enzymes into milk to separate the water from the fat, then the fatty components are sometimes aged to develop flavor. The enzymes are produced by bacteria these days, so it's not like it involves a gory butchering step.

It really is. Once we got past nominative and accusative in school (which were hard enough coming from English which has no gender), and suddenly this chart was busted out, I realized German was always going to be a guessing game for me. I can only hope the meaning is clear enough with completely wrong genders and word endings. I find I do better hearing whole phrases repeatedly than learning word by word, but seeing this helps with knowing why a phrase is worded a certain way.
