For me troubleshooting wasn't the issue with memory. Especially once I know the difference between extending expanded etc etc. Of course I forgot them all now lol. Manga shoes typically revolve around irqs and other resources. However once I got a mental map of all my devices and what resources they were using I can typically resolve conflicts unless I have two devices that conflicts no matter what you change. Then it's not really a troubleshooting issue it's more of a resource issue and I know it.

I remember making a multichoice auto exact file that lets me customize how to set up memory management for specific set of games

Solidigm built further upon the SK Hynix products they were based on as well. The driver makes the difference.

Tbf, DOS and computers back then were simpler than today, making it easier to troubleshoot comparatively.

Win 3.1 added a bit more complexity on top of that. Basically we built more complex structures on top of older simpler ones to make it more and more user friendly. The more user friendly, the more complex the underlying tech to make it user friendly (harder for techie people to troubleshoot since there is so much more going on).

That's why SBCs like the RPi are gaining traction. It's like going back a few steps so people have an easier time learning some of the underlying basics of computing.

I plan on installing Fedora on the 2230 drive while Windows will be on the 2280 drive.

While I use Linux as my primary OS, it's mostly for low performance stuff (web browsing, maybe some emulation, etc).

Windows will be used for gaming so wanted a bigger and faster drive for it.

You can change it up if you want. But I wouldn't recommend an external USB drive as an OS drive. Windows wouldn't install on it anyways, but Linux can. For some use cases that may be good. If I wanted a Linux OS to boot from but also portable to use on a different PC if I needed to, that would be a great use case. Would probably encrypt it for good measure for this use case. It may be great if you want another main OS on the internal drive and an immutable or live USB living in your laptop that gives you the option to use on another PC for security reasons (only used for banking or for crypto transactions for example).

Damn, hits home.

Stop reality checking us! I already paid for a FW16 waiting on Batch 5. I don't want to read this! Make him stahhp!

When I was using Arch, Gnome was still my DE of choice. Windows Manager isn't really beginner friendly, but if you have the tenacity to learn, I would read up on them to see which will fit your needs and style better.

Should be fine with AMD too because of USB4 working with TB3 enclosures.

What are the specs of the ram sticks? As long as they are DDR5, but those are way too new to be found in a clock. Unless your grandma is a time traveler and hid ram sticks in her clock. But then you should be careful because it may be future sticks like DDR6 or 7, for which case you can't use in your FW16.

If you don't know what it is because there's no labels, you can always try it when your laptop comes.

As for feeding tube, I'm sure you can just ask someone at your local Home Depot. They usually can help much quicker than waiting for a Batch 9 FW16. Just don't tell them it's for feeding. They must have very powerful computers because they can design and locate the right tube relatively quick.

While you're out there, don't forget to pick up some gift cards. The holidays are coming soon, and you'll never know when some calling you will ask for some too. It will save you a trip and awkward car rides with a stranger holding on the phone with you. I hate those small conversations.
