I kinda get what you're saying, but not really. Why would adding more content such as this lead to an instance wanting to defederate from that instance? There's no users there to troll, spam, or break the rules. It just adds posts.

Looks great so far. I like how the posts that are pulled over have both the link to the content from the original Reddit post as well as a link to the Reddit post itself.

Okay, just tried it out. Added /r/bestof and it's working. Very cool!

I'm guessing this scrapes? Otherwise it'll stop working when the API changes happen on July 1.

Just to be clear, what if there is already a community on Lemmy that coincides with a subreddit? Will it make another community on your instance? Or will it use the existing community?

BTW, what app do you use on your phone to connect with it with the bluetooth? I imagine there's more than one to choose from?

Edit: NVM, I see you answered this in another comment.

That's awesome. I wonder if that is true for other makes as well? That would certainly be better than spending several hundred bucks on one of those bi-directional scanners.

This has been known for a while, but this information seems to be gaining more traction lately with the general public. The recommendations are to ensure you have an exhaust fan that vents to the outside above your range, and to use it each and every time your range is turned on. Of course, that's not something most people do.

On many vehicles, this function is turned off or on using a bi-directional scanning tool. You can buy one, but they are typically around $400-$600 bucks on Amazon or whereever. So if you have a mechanic friend you're all set, or sometimes the dealers will adjust these things as a complimentary service when your vehicle is in for an oil change or whatever.

If there are other useful and safer alternatives then it makes sense to scrap the wire bristle brushes entirely.

Something has convinced her that it’s better to let the battery almost! die, then charge it to full, but not leave it plugged in because that will degrade the battery

That was true a long time ago when NiCad batteries were around. But, since they had the problems you described, they're not around any more, and phones generally all use lithium-ion batteries which don't have this issue.

I know there are plenty of fixes coming in the next version of Lemmy, and maybe some of these sorting issues will be....ahem....sorted out with that.
