Yes sure, but not at any cost. Not only are they generally more expensive to own, insure, and maintain, AWD adds weight to a vehicle which makes it harder to stop. The best winter car I've ever owned to this day is still a small Fiat Panda. It was FWD and tiny, but importantly very light and with all the primary weight over the driven wheels. With good (studded) winter tires it got up hills in snow where my wife's AWD SUV was struggling.

Funny you say that, because 100 bucks is usually the difference between budget winter tires and premium winter tires. You'd be surprised how many people still pick the budget option.

FYI: Winter driving modes on most EVs limit the amount of torque from launch to adjust for reduced grip on surfaces like snow and ice.

I've owned several FWD EVs in what I'd consider the wintery parts of BC (snowfall of 8+ meters anually) and the amount of times I got stuck as a result of not having AWD can be counted on one hand. Good driving habits and high-end winter tires are much, much more important than having AWD or not.

That said, the times I did get stuck were mostly a bit annoying if not embarassing (due to holding up traffic). Only once (while climbing a steep hill) did it actually get a bit sketchy due to backsliding, but that happened to every vehicle that had to come to a stop on that hill.

Never to late to build another canal...I feel the shipping in the gulf of Mexico would benefit from a shorter route to the eastern ports.

I will gladly, cheerfully, trade any 39c day for a -39c day. Cold is easily manageable with more / better clothes. Even when dressed for the heat, it still saps your energy like crazy and makes you feel like shit in the process.

With a cellular data subscription that we will then be required to pay a monthly fee for, to make sure the TV continues to work. You didn't think they'd be giving this away for free, right?

This happened just across the river from where we live. So sad to see someone lose their life so young. Her dedication and bravery to help keep our town safe will definitely be remembered.

Sometimes it's nice to be reminded that California isn't always the regulatory hell-hole it's being made out to be by pundits. Non-competes are BS and I am happy California recognises this.

I had no clue people had conspiracy theories about Denver Internantional Airport. Like WTF?

Good luck enforcing that non-compete after firing 80% of your engineers Elon. I'd be really surprised if this holds any kind of water when it makes it to court.
