A redesign I don't immediately hate? I really hope this is a return to more 3D logos and UI elements, not a fan of how flat everything is nowadays.

Yep, that's how Baconreader worked too.

Whatever's the most comfortable for me that night.

The data says otherwise. Thousands upon thousands of accounts from instances with thousands of users but no to very few monthly active users. That screams bots to me.

Unfortunately, us on kbin will have to deal with this too thanks to federation, but at least kbin's got some bot protection thanks to hCaptcha.

Could 100% tell it was going to hell the past while, knew it was mainstream for several years now, ever since I started hearing radio hosts talk about Reddit. However, a few months ago I was helping my mom with something, and I glanced at her phone to see Reddit open. That's when I thought "Oh. Reddit's over".

Depends on the instance, some require it, some don't.

When I first joined the Fediverse I saw a decent amount of people saying that they didn't want kbin/lemmy to have email verification. Is this what they wanted? Fake growth?

Kbin has been so much better than what I've seen of the official app. I see what I want to see, not recommendations, and, more importantly, I can see a lot more posts at once compared to new reddit and the reddit app. That's why I don't use Squabbles, and it's why I used Baconreader and old reddit.

Slide out controller, like the Xperia Play. I've gotten super into (at least the idea of) SBC handheld gaming, and there's just nothing quite like the Xperia Play now. Sure, there's bluetooth controllers, but I'm not a big fan of bluetooth, and the majority of the bluetooth controllers make portability a pain rather than it being a sleek package.

Hopefully people are able to realize what the corresponding platform is doesn't matter, it can be anything.

I think of this like game servers.

The site you're using is your platform (kbin=pc, mastodon=xbox, lemmy=ps). After that, the instances are what servers you connect to (lemmy.ca=psNA, whatever on mastodon=xboxSEA, kbin.social=pcEU. Then, federation is bringing it all together with crossplay.

Made a bit of sense to me, so hopefully this helps!
