Cowboys-Dolphins on Christmas eve is going to be a tie, isn't it?

Also, it looks like we are going to have a bird-bowl this year.

I'd change how the draft works.

Bottom 8 teams don't get a 1st round pick. 9th worst team picks first and it proceeds as normal. Rounds 3 and 4 are like the first round. Round 2 is where the big changes happen: each of the bottom 8 teams drafts 3 times in snake order. Picks for the 2nd round are protected and can't be traded. Rounds 5+ don't really matter so they either go away or proceed as normal.

So basically the teams that suck the most can't suck their way into a top tier QB, but they get a lot of quality picks to build up a core roster. So it would both discourage tanking for a QB while getting bottom teams help where they need it. Bad teams on the cusp of the 8-9th pick get to engage in game theory. Everyone else gets a slightly better 1st pick, but a slightly worse 2nd and 3rd pick. The best players also get a slightly better chance of getting picked by a competent team to develop them.

Another benefit is bad teams can't count on lucking into a great pick so there's more motivation to be a competent organization because rebuilding your team probably won't happen overnight.

Cons:

No Stroud to the texans or Burrow to the bengals would happen in this scenario. Good teams can't trick bad teams into trading their picks away.

Is seven good? I'm not used to us being in the single digits for the better part of the season.

If they kept him around any longer, steelers fans would have realized they were waving Canada towels and that would have hurt merch sales.

Miami is terrible in december, getting to 12 wins is a big ask. We'd have to beat the titans and commies, sweep the jets (short week this week boo), and win against one of either the Cowboys, Ravens, or Bills to end the season.

While our D is getting better, our offense needs to get back in rhythm.

Our last 3 games are against the cowboys, ravens, and bills. It'll be rough.

Part of me wants to say it depends if they win the big game or not. If their D plus whatever they get from watson gives them a SB next year, it'll still be bad but because they got a SB out of it, it'll be worth. If not, yes it's pretty bad.

Purdy had 3 rough games in a row, maybe only the bengals were getting back into contender form. Got outplayed by cousins. Tua lost to 3 teams everyone thought were going to the SB (it was the bills last good game of the year).

Looks like ATM Tua is the only one who's in the top 5 for all 3 categories. But he doesn't have any "big game" wins this year. He's also got to go against the Jets' D twice so his stats will look a little uglier in the next 5ish weeks unless he runs up the numbers against weak teams.

Still half a season to go so it's probably Mahomes.

Since we are talking about firing BB, how about not getting Brady help to finish his career in NE only to see him win a SB with the bucs. And trading away Jimmy G who they were developing to replace Brady. And whatever they did to ruin Kraft Mac and Cheese Jones.

If I'm a packers fan, I'm chanting for a full on reset.

When the dolphins who were anti-tua at that point backed out of trading for watson at the last minute, the Browns should have rethought things. See, the thing about rushing to make a mistake as a franchise isn't just that you hurt yourself, it's that you keep another franchise from making that mistake. By not dumping Tua for watson, miami let the browns be the guys who made that mistake.

ATM Watson is the 26th rated QB by rating. He's 24th by qbr if you like it. Either way, this super expensive guy with a fully guaranteed contract who also cost you picks is stuck in the bottom quarter of QBs and needs to be dumped. But the browns can't dump him.

The biggest failure is if the Browns had an average QB, their defense would let them make a superbowl run. Baker Mayfield today, who the browns cut lose, would probably good enough with their defense to make a superbowl run. Crazy how that worked out.

At this point they've got a good chance of making the playoffs, but I don't think they'd last long. So considering how he's playing, it's already a disaster because the defense is ready now and he isn't.
