I found it awhile back on a vintage comic community on reddit. I found a few other comics with the same "it happens in the best regulated families" caption on google so that may just be the name of the strip.

Youtube video of Rocky Stoutenburgh, the player mentioned in the article, going over how he uses the controller.

When you get a text from your DM after the session saying "I forgot to mention you guys leveled up"

Wow I've seen this series once or twice and thought it was a small series. But according to wikipedia there are 24 games!! I need to check these out.

And we all think about buns from time to time no shame there

Another one I really liked

I found/fell in love with this song after learning about it from a this greentext

Ever since then a certain mood will strike me and I'll spend a week listening to it. Haven't had a chance to bust it out as a DnD bard but maybe someday

Couldn't find the artist - please let me know if you know I would love to see more of their work!

Oh I know gameart! Havent posted as much recently but I think ive made at least 10 posts over there so you owe me :p

Its a great community though and I actually just shouted it out on an asklemmy post asking for good communities to scroll through

I like the game a lot, and I think the roster is actually pretty good. But as someone who plays a lot of fighting games this has got to be one of the worst select screens I've seen. The CSS exists for the player to be able to quickly find the fighter they want to pick, fighters who usually have a distinct color palette to be visually interesting. But this screen makes everyone the same shades of blue and it all blends together. Again I love the game, great mechanics music and roster, but if it was possible I would pick a black and white list of names over this.

I don't know how to see the total for all instances but at least for Sopuli we have hit 100 which I didn't really think would happen!!

If you are visiting the community please make a post! It can be literally anything even a little related to gaming! Even a showerthought or a screenshot or a cool fact or anything! Your posts are welcome even if you feel like they are too small or uninteresting or shitposty I promise you I want to see them!

If he is the single dad why is there mom? I dont think you usually refer to your dad as a single parent if its a divorce.

I'm very curious what the percentage of broken vs surviving phones is

Morrowind style would be you asking a guard "hey wheres the doctor" and they'd say "oh theres a nice place by the mast building and a cheaper spot in the well". That would be better than what we have now

Thought this was really funny, not sure if it counts as a meme

I've recently stumbled upon a new genre that seems like its starting to take off - games where the main mechanic is taking pictures. I wanted to talk about the ones I've found and see if there are any that I missed

Toem

This one is really cool because you explore the world from a top down 2d perspective but switch to 3d when taking pictures. That mechanic plus the black and white coloring gives the game a really unique mood that I found to be super relaxing. The quests are also the right amount of difficult, encouraging you to explore without being frustrating

Eastshade

This one is a much larger 3D open world game. Instead of taking pictures with a camera you are creating paintings, but the mechanics are basically the same. The world is populated with animal NPCs and a ton of side quests to explore. It almost feels like an Elder Scrolls games at time, but doing something peaceful like painting instead of hitting people with a sword changes the entire vibe. I love it and revisit it all the time.

Pupperazi

Not much to say here because I did not get very far. You take pictures of dogs to fulfill certain missions. It just didn't grab me, and I put it down after a couple of hours.

Pokemon Snap

Felt like this needed a mention, both the original and the remake. Not my type of game and not what I am looking for in this genre. This is an on rails experience and there isnt much exploration

So there are 4 games, two I liked and two I did not. I think the big difference is the first two are basically regular games, you just use your camera/brush in place of the usual weapon. While the other two are more of a safari experience. Hopefully we see more of these "shooters" in the future!

Game Club is intended to be a community where anyone can post without feeling like they have to meet an importance threshold. There are many fantastic gaming communities on Lemmy, but the general ones seems to be focused on game release news and not so much generic gamer posts. I want this to be place for people to share anything gaming related they would like, without feeling like they might get removed.

So please submit your favorite youtube videos, your rankings of your favorite franchise, an article from 7 years ago, the map from a game you love, a goofy screenshot or clip, a story about someone you used to game with, your idea for the next big game, a doodle of Master Chief, tips for Ryu, it is all welcome here!

Young Scrolls creates tracks using voice clips mostly from Elder Scrolls games. If you have never heard their music I would recommend Dagothwave, The Fine or Balmora Blue off of this album.

I've always been impressed with how creative the lyrics can be when working with such a limited amount of material. These are not just novelties, there are many legitimately good tracks here. TES fans will probably enjoy them more though.
