I find it hard to leave the safety of blåhaj. Just all sorts of bigots and toxic people out there. Not all of lemmy, sure, but enough that I don't like looking around.

Most of what you are saying is a lie? No one was saying the attack helicopter or litterbox stuff, nor were we defending trolls. What we said is use neopronouns when requested, and report trolls as usual. Refer to people as they ask or ignore them, don't feed trolls if you think someone is a troll.
People kept engaging with the trolls rather than doing what we asked.
Honestly, people have no idea how to engage with trolling these days (don't).

Long story short the entire subject is being pushed by right wing lobby organizations to get people riled up about trans people and secure votes for the right. That's it. Do not fall for their bullshit.

Presentation and gender identity does not need to match up! And some people struggle to present in certain ways. The safest bet is always to respect what you are told
He was banned from blåhaj back then, so I'm happy to say I've not really seen him since. Someone did share his odd recent ranting community he made where he wrote to himself about how evil and mean we are or something for asking people to either block/ignore/report or use the requested pronouns of other users. He's obsessed apparently.
