Let’s just say I’ve never seen any real union pushback.

The places that pushed back got retaliatory outsourced and automated until pushback stopped.

Because lobbying is also done be environmental groups, neighborhood groups, consumer activists, ... Ban lobbying would deprive a large set of the population of their voice

I've seen that story before. It's a very old tale, but now with different means to screw yourself over if you don't know what you're doing.

But first they'll make it work air traffic control and social security.

Voting isn't a Rorschach test like they seem to think it is. It's giving a blank cheque to one guy so you better have some trust what's he going to do with it.

Many societies also develop a system of redistribution or debt forgiveness. It's known that too much debt accumulation in too few hands cause increasingly bigger issues or that circumstances change. But there are always those that need to learn the lesson again.

We told a friend who was always up to an hour late that the event started at 3 instead of the real time of 4. He arrived exactly at 4, just when the rest rolled up too. He was so mad when he found out.
