99% of fedi instances should require sign-ups with applications and email. It does not make sense to let in users indiscriminately unless you have a 24h staff in charge of moderation.

Ask your instance admin to restart the instance. It's a known bug. I've set our instance to restart every 4 hours since it takes about 20 seconds to do a restart and is way better than having a stale timeline. That said, SIJW has thousands of users while we only have 200. We can get by restarting, maybe with more users there will be more of a negative impact even if it's only for 20 seconds every 4 hours.
Unlike Mastodon, one of the good things is that only you're instances system administrator has access to your IP: no mods nor site admins.
You can then use a VPN on top of that.
There's currently no way to do this. It's a planned feature though.
Doesn't matter. I need to take that risk for the sake of paws!
As a non US person, it's baffling to me that there's this whole background of being "the land of the free", but half the country would want to turn it into Saudi Arabia 2.0, Christian Boogaloo.
That said, anyone of you over there who are opposing these changes, keep up the fight. When one country gets more conservative others will follow. There's no country in earth immune to this.
Licked paws!
Thank you for this <3
I had this happen the other day over at Yiffit. Suddenly the hard drive was full.
Yes, please.
Not sure if it's still recommended, but I've been using Cloudstream on Android, which gives you access to dozens of streaming sites seamlessly.
