Because it's parent's rights to enforce certain learnings UNLESS it's progressive teachings apparently.

Except for the millions of Windows users...
I don't understand how they think this will stop immigrants crossing the border. They were already willing to deal with predatory coyotes, miles of scorching deserts, border control officers, and whatever variety of wildlife they encounter along the way, to reach the US. All in order to escape the hellhole situation they were in. These barbed wires and asshole "tactics" like dumping water onto the ground won't stop them from attempting, and all it does is add additional cruelty and death to the situation.
I am for border control, but we need to do it in a smarter way and also fix the asylum process for these kinds of situations.
Hence the term "worth your salt".
P.S. I just made that up, I have no idea if it's true.
I felt the same way, but it's mostly due to lemmy's still premature sorting algorithm. Sorting by New, Top Hour, or Top Six changed my experience drastically. There's still issues like posts having not enough involvement through comments, and duplicate posts from similar communities, but overall it's much better after about a month in.
He's already at the "the media is unfair to me" stage. That was quick.
Also, the last paragraph is hilarious.
To be fair, it IS a porn instance. I think I would rather blame the sorting algorithms of lemmy that allows popular communities, including memes, to spam the All page due to the sheer number of posts and hides smaller ones.
It sounds like taking advice from fortune cookies.
That being said, given the premeditated nature of the killings, cover-up and the spending spree they went on afterwards, all while being over twenty years of age, I find it hard to have any empathy for the two.
What did you invest it in? I had mines in an S&P 500 style fund and while it was pretty stagnant in 2022 it's risen by at least 50% in the last year (with contributions of course)
But then again, stock performance is not an indicator of economic performance...
I see the progress since a month ago, it's come a long way and I'm really starting to feel at home here.
It's the dumbest take ever even if you're just trying to play devil's advocate, never mind making it an official state PUBLIC EDUCATION POLICY. It's like saying slaves were fed during slavery that allowed them to live. Technically yes they were fed, technically yes they learned skills, but it's all overridden by the fact that THEY WERE ENSLAVED. There's no room to find any silver lining in this situation that could potentially give any props to slave owners because it's one of the most subhuman behavior imaginable.
A few goal post moves later: "it's the liberals that caused this!"
