They could, but it's a pretty progressive city, so there's nothing to lose and everything to gain for anyone public-facing in Seattle to be seen telling Paxton to fuck off.

Also, on a much less cynical note, making a bigot with grotesque demands look thoroughly foolish this time could create a precedent that could save lives in less clear-cut cases.

Tl;Dr: Telling Paxton off as loudly as possible (figuratively speaking) is both the opportune thing to do AND the right thing to do.

bless the rains down in America

Gonna take some time to do the things we always had, huh?

you could make the argument that denying gender affirming care is denying medically necessary treatment.

Because it is.

Missed opportunity, really. Add some collaboration with the British Broadcasting Company and you have "Virgin DP with BBC". Smut seo heaven!

With a name like that, it's NOT a comedic work?

I meant nobody who isn't already a member of the cult, but good point.

Btw, this is very old knowledge. I posted a study about this to a political shitposting Facebook group over a decade ago to make fun of how conservatism is an irrational fear response and they basically said that the study must be wrong because everyone ELSE is the one who's scared, not them!

Fast forward several years and they're using the same study that was old even back then to promote themselves like some weird distortion of the "greed is good" Gordon Gekko bullshit 😂

No, I mean, they idealise their irrational fear all the time. What's novel is going to great lengths to spell out that being afraid makes them better.

He's fooling nobody with his half-hearted "stress" response dodge 😂

Not every day you see someone flexing about being an irrational coward 😂

You catch more flies with honey than vinegar

That's not always true. Like the literal case linked, politicians dragging their feet is one of the exceptions to the rule that positive reinforcement works better than loudly stating that you're not satisfied and why you're not satisfied.

Or how about if I get your thoughts on how to rear a child

Politicians aren't children and shouldn't be coddled as if they were.

Encouragement, support, and excitement do more to inspire change than any amount of complaints.

Again, politics is an exception. A politician who is informed of a problem or the inadequacy of their solutions will perform better than one who receives praise and adulation every time they affect a tiny fraction of the positive change within their power.

Incrementalism is ~~the only bloodless~~ a truly feckless way to achieve ~~true~~ extremely limited progress

Fixed that for you. Here's what Martin Luther King thought of your Incrementalism:

That's the problem with the GOP right now. They literally have no other platform except anti-Democrat.

If only! How blinded by horse race politics do you have to be to look at a literal fascist party and think "the contrarianism is the problem" 🤦
