What's new is that an American politician uses all the dirty tricks on the US itself instead of a country on the other side of the globe.

When I lived with my grandparents for a while I had to use the bathroom without heated floors whenever the maid was cleaning the other one. My current bathroom straight up doesn't have heating.

I'm willing to bet he's just gonna give 200 million to an associated construction company, take back like half for himself and we'll never hear about it again.

They stole a lot of it from leftist movements actually. Hitler wrote he wanted to provoke them that way but honestly they just couldn't come up with their own stuff as usual.

It depends on the actual intention but it potentially falls under what is referred to as covert incest, especially if there's a pattern. It's not something people talk about a lot but it's more common than you'd think and it can definitely have a lasting impact.

(This is perfectly legal where I live if that matters)

I'm really curious because I used to have a lot of misconceptions about mushrooms of the psilocybe variety and I'm wondering how fly agaric would compare. From what I've heard it's more dissociative and less euphoric and the visuals reflect that too but I'd like to hear some first hand knowledge. I'll probably try some fly agaric tea (that way it's not neurotoxic) at some point, only a small amount to get to know it. I just think it's a fascinating species in general and basically I want to experience some of what it has to offer. But if I do I'd like a rough idea of what to expect.

Hello to all probably three of you who also follow Women's football. I'm currently watching the game and am thoroughly amazed by Sweden's display. England has a decent team too but they just aren't able to play their game tonight. I was pretty sure Spain would win the final against whoever but now I'm not so sure. They've got Switzerland in the bag though. Italy I don't think poses a huge threat. Germany (my homeland but oh well) is probably gonna have a bad time against France. France is hard to predict for me otherwise. They've been solid but I'm not sure about how well they can keep it up.

What are your thoughts? For now I'm sticking with Spain beating Sweden in the final but maybe that changes tomorrow.

Hey everyone! So I've had this cascadian teacher all-in-one bag for about a month now. Shipping took a while and it was quite hot so I'm suspecting the mycelium might have arrived a little under the weather. The first flush was quick but apart from two very lanky shrooms all were aborted. I heard that long stems + aborts means the shrooms are suffocating so from then on I started fanning and misting the bag twice every day. I've had three flushes so far and harvested a little over 30g in dry weight. By now the top looks kinda unappetizing. It's partly covered in white fluff. There's some blue discoloration near the picking spots and the non fluffy areas have a sort of beige tint. It smells fresh though. Could there be contam or is the kit likely depleted anyway? Otherwise I think I'll just keep up the fanning and misting routine. Maybe just fanning from time to time, the humidity seems quite high. Looking forward to some advice!

Reddit has this feature and I used to use it all the time. I feel like this might be the reason many lemmings delete their posts after a while. Not like you get bombarded with notifications on here but still. Sometimes I ask a question and once I have a couple of answers I'm "done" with the post. I want to leave it up for others though so muting it would be ideal.

So afaik there's no definitive answer as to why they do it. I heard it's an attempt to lure prey closer but I find that not very convincing as I can't believe it would ever actually work, especially since they make the same sound for mice, birds and even insects.

I've observed two aspects about it that I haven't heard anywhere before: They only make the sound when the prey is out of reach and there's a social aspect to it. I've tested both myself. If you want to you can test the social aspect too. Next time your cat is locked in on a bird outside the window just make a vaguely chitter-esque sound and there's a good chance it will join in. I do it a lot since I've discovered it's contagious for them. Really gets them riled up and ready for murder 😅

My best guess is when cats do this they're basically stimming, similar to purring. They don't have naturally great attention spans but they need to stay focused on the prey in case it moves within range. Producing a sound might help them stay in the zone. The fact that it can be triggered by making the same sound does puzzle me a little. Maybe it's just a way for them to bond, sort of like howling in wolfs. Hunting is very important to them after all so actively stalking prey together could be a way to strenghten the relationship. I don't think they do it as a hunting strategy though. Maybe I'm wrong but I've never seen house cats actually hunt together as a team.

Ok enough yapping out of me. What are your thoughts? Do you have theories of your own? And have you ever chittered together with your cat? 😄

I love this game. It's a cell shaded coming of age adventure where you ride your scooter around the desert and explore ruins or meet unique characters. It's easily worth full price imo so this is definitely a steal.

So the idea is a mix of user submitted playlists, informational segments and a few ads from hand-picked EU based companies that deserve more attention anyway. The ads can in turn fund music licensing fees.

For the info segments it could be anything really like current events, mildly interesting facts, fun novelties and so on as long as it is relevant to the European audience. People could either record their own voice or hand in text that is then recorded by other volunteers. Someone would have to curate all of this of course and I'm thinking maybe that part can be handled sort of like moderating a Lemmy community. As in enforcing a set of rules without intervening too much.

Would you be interested in this? Or would you even like to participate? I'd have to ask for help with the technical side of things anyway. But I'm convinced this could be a fun project and provide a nice alternative to paid audio streaming so I'm willing to put in some effort.
