This is a neat idea. I'm guessing it's something the admin of the instance has to run?

This is a good idea. I just wish my local community was as active here as it was on reddit.
Or, this will sound crazy but hear me out, we put a giant ice cube in the ocean.
You'd think the dystopia of China and what they did to Hong Kong would be enough. We hear scary stories about China that you think people would want not want that here. Or episodes of Black Mirror.
You can try the other instances if you want. That's the good part about decentralization. It splits the communities, which sucks, but they may also have different rules and stuff, which is good.
For example, there's ttrpg.network or pathfinder.social.
Well there's other instances with DnD communities where that might be allowed (no idea). That's the good thing about federalization. Yes, it sucks to split uo communities, but you can just subscribe to all of them where different rules and stuff may form. And if they don't allow piracy, someone can always spin up another instance in a country where it is allowed.
For example, two other related instances I can think go right now (which may have similar rules. I don't know where they're based) are ttrpg.network and pathfinder.social.
In other words, "From each according to their ability, to each according to their need." 😉
What's it mean in English?
EDIT : Thanks everyone for the translations!
It's definitely got a lot of growing and improvement to do, but I think it has a lot of potential once it works out its kinks and can get through the backlog of enhancement recommendations.
Like a multireddit-like ability? I know that would be useful and has been highly requested. I personally would love that function.
The most trolls came from those two instances since they have no criteria to joining and they have so many users, and beehaw prides itself on being a nice, safe space. Lemmy currently doesn't have the moderating tools to empower them to take care of all the new, toxic redditors, but they said they're willing to federate with them when it does, which I'm sure it will eventually.
More users means more content, especially for a Twitter-like service which is based on following individual people. And apparently they already have more sign-ups than Mastadon.
