Hmm for patient games I'm playing now... Does Super Robot Wars V count? I feel like I've mentioned it in several weekly threads already. I'll also mention NFSU2 with the underground2.net modpack, then.

Very good ARPG with tons of depth to build making and a nice dark fantasy theme. One half of my favorite Diablo-likes, the other being the much simpler and more casual Torchlight 2.
After the disaster that was Babylon's Fall, yeah I can see it. Stupid ass CEO wanting to push live services and NFT games, ran out all the talent from the studio.
Doom and Doom 2 MIDI's. Playing these games at night just feels right. And also, the intro and soundtracks of Unreal Tournament '99. Absolute late night vibes.
TTGL is peak (mecha) fiction so thats a great one to have watched. Very much in the "super robot" camp that this series is named after, as opposed to "real robots" like Gundam, where the mecha are more akin to military machines than giant superheroes and get treated as such. SRW does a good job of mixing the vibes and themes of the two.
Ah right so THAT'S why X was on my to-play list. I keep forgetting what's on which game.
If you have any interest in giant robot media, or tokusatsu stuff, or enjoy tactical RPGs with tons and tons of characters, it's the game for you. I'm really enjoying SRW V, but I'm not sure it's the best place to start with, given how many of it's mecha crossovers start at their "late stage" and kinda assume you're familiar with the source material. I'm pretty familiar with the Gundams but some of the other shows I was a bit lost about, such as Nadesico and Fullmetal Panic. Then again, V is one of the most popular recent games. Every game in the franchise is independent from one another, though, and they all explain all the basics you need to understand the plot. Just pick the one with the robots/shows you think are the coolest.
Super Robot Wars V. Just hit the first hard split on the story where I could stay with the super edgy Cross Ange plot, alongside Gundam 00 and Fullmetal Panic Or, go along with the Nadesico and the super silly Mightgaine, alongside several UC timeline Gundams. I chose the latter.
Super Robot Wars V! I'm having a blast with the silly crossover story finding excuses to throw dozens of mecha from different shows at me all at once. Last night I played a mission where I had 8 Gundams in the field from 4 different shows at once! And we were fighting dragons from Cross Ange.
As far as I can tell, Spike is continuing his (extremely valuable and helpful to us) work, just behind the login at his forum. I finally signed up like I intended to, and it looks like business as usual. You guys should come, too.

Real. Ever since I spent some time setting up good CRT shaders, playing retro games feels a lot cooler. They just give the best feeling and look pretty nice with them on. Sometimes for fun, I leave the shader on for regular Windows usage.
