It provided two options: continuing to change the clocks twice per year, or remain on permanent daylight saving time. Permanent standard time - which seems to be the scientifically preferable solution - was not one of the options.

The BC government is now using the results of this thing to say that permanent DST is what people wanted.

The "audience score" being significantly lower than the critic score is a red flag.

The "political alignment" (for lack of a better term) of the show needs to be considered, given that the tactic is a right-wing favourite.

The number of "reviews" that appear in a very short span of time could be telling.

The tone and quality of the discourse on platforms like Twitter could be informative, as well.

But yeah, it's one of those things that can't really be proven with the data available to the layperson.

I'm fine with them throwing a survey on to Engage MB or something, but if they do, I hope they provide full information about the ramifications of each option. The poll that was done in BC was kind of bullshit.

“We will be back in there, that was always my expectation,” Feige said. “So the need to set a dinner or a lunch to say hi, I just never do. Because we’re busy and because we’re going to have a next time. And that hit me like a ton of bricks when I realized that there wasn’t going to be a next time.”

Good advice for me...

Why would you need to put on a show?

Well it was a literal show to establish himself as the leader of his little pirate society, so I thought the ridiculous show trial worked. But I also think his motivation to be that sort of leader was a little out of left field.

Yes, good call. I can't believe I forgot to mention it, too!

I also wonder if a completely stabilized Omega molecule would even be viable as a power source - the original VOY episode doesn't seem to really touch on that, but it does seem like its energy potential comes from it being destabilized.

But with The Daleks' Master Plan, the story was not sold overseas.

Censors in Australia and New Zealand deemed it too violent, and without their buy-in, selling to other markets was not profitable.

Combined with the move towards colour, the black and white story was thought to have little future value and consigned to the bin.

Every recovered episode is to be celebrated, but damn. This is impressive.

not seeing Discovery blipping first right as the blockade is lifted, at least a few seconds or a minute before all other ships warping in.

I had the same thought - let the first responders be the first responders!

Hopefully we'll see Stamets or someone show up as a guest lecturer at some point.

does anyone actually care about a gay character on Star Trek in the year 2026?

Well, yes - plenty of people care about, and celebrate, representation.

Most of the investment — approximately $32 billion — is being drawn from a pool of money set aside almost four years ago by former prime minister Justin Trudeau's government to modernize NORAD, the binational North American air defence command shared with the United States.

So not necessarily new funds, but perhaps a more solid plan on what it will be spent on.

When an old enemy resurfaces as an existential threat to the Federation, Nahla must outwit a vengeful foe with a personal vendetta against her — as our cadets and instructors undertake a dangerous, seemingly impossible, mission to save everyone and everything they hold dear.
