I too can vouch for Motorola. I have the 200$ G31 and it's got a headphone jack and micro-sd-slot. I'm very pleased with its quality and performance so far, and hope it lasts some years to come.

Also, the Moonlander has people saying the tenting is uncomfortable, and to go with the ergodox ez instead... I'm just unsure because there is so many to choose from, but most of them are so expensive that I'd have to buy one and stick with it for years to come.

Another thing: I use Blender. Is it possible / feasible to reduce key count that much when blender has this huge amount of keyboard shortcuts? I think if I were to buy an ergo keyboard, I'd gravitate towards the moonlander for this reason.

I must say It's daunting to reduce the amount of keys that much, since I'm used to full-size. Then again, I use the numpad mostly to control foobar2000 (music), which should be easily balanced with a thumb-activated additional layer in a board such as the corne. I can't seem to find the fully assembled version of the corne, but the unicorne is assemblable without soldering. Would you recommend low-profile switches? I have absolutely no experience typing on those so I'd be interested to know what the difference feels like.

I think you are right. There are many people in their 40s who grew up with online games, my father included :). Although I am still fairly certain that online games weren't as prevalent back then as they are today, thus many parents don't quite grasp the concept.

EDIT: I would like to add that even people who didn't play online games, such as my mother, still played on the atari, for example, and know the concept of "unpauseable" games. So I think that it mostly comes down to demographic. In my group of school friends (a few years ago) some parents were in the know and others weren't.

Although that is true, they might not be as familiar with the concept of online multiplayer games, which rose in popularity much later. The odds of someone's parents having played, for example, Quake or Unreal Tournament in their childhoods are considerably lower.

Castle in the Sky. I just recently started watching some Studio Ghibli films, with Castle in the Sky blowing me away with a simple, but amazing story, concept and beautiful execution. Hayao Miyazaki is a genius.

And other words change if they are acceptable or not. In our grandparent's childhoods, it was usual to call a black person a n*****. Now it isn't, and that's a good thing, isn't it?

Thanks for the response, I understand your points better now. I still think that 699$ is a lot of money for a device that doesn't support USB3 speeds, but then again, that's just "apple tax". Which doesn't mean I'm against the "feature-funneling" method you described, that definetely has a lot of advantages.

I use the USB-C Port of my phone regularly to connect it to my PC and move images from my Phone to my PC and copy music files from my PC to my phone's Micro-SD card. I wouldn't consider myself a "pro" in either of these fields, yet I have moved hundreds of Gigabytes of data this way. I also use my phone's 3.5 millimeter audio port with headphones, IEMs or speakers all the time.

In general, I trust cables way more than I trust any wireless solutions.

I have a Micro-SD-Card slot, a 3.5 mil connector and a USB-C-Connector and I find all of those essential (would never buy a phone without one of these).

My phone is a Motorola Moto G31. Costs 170€. Served me well for over a year now, I'm hoping it will for some more years. It's not particularly "fancy", but it's a good product that does everything I need it to. It even has a quite nice battery life :)

Now, to I-Phones. I think it would be fair for a 1000! Dollar Device to include USB3 Speeds. If the pro can do it, why can't the non-pro?

I want to embrace discussion here. Please specify these "many ways".

Using a sheet of paper right now, am in the process of switching to a self-written password manager. It uses Vigenere encryption using a key that is not saved anywhere (that I have to remember) and saves to a .dat file. Should I use my own tool or a service?
