Oof you think the US is superior.

Private security companies earn a monthly fee for patrolling neighborhoods and providing armed response to their clients’ alarm systems. They also offer tracking and car recovery services, which often results in them getting involved in high-speed chases of car thieves and hijackers.

Emphasis mine. How does getting payed from a private individual give you access to armed responses to anything? If that is legal no wonder why the police is failing at maintaining the law.

Taking a look at the global index fund where I have some of my savings I see that it went up 28 % last year. It is almost as if there is one part of the economy available to working people and one for those with monetary assets 🤔

The left is primarily not concerned with the wealth disparity caused by different wages between jobs. What drives inequality, which makes our society less democratic and just, is the private ownership of capital (meaning means of production in this context). It would be totally fair in a socialist society to add bonuses for harder or more dangerous work. What is not compatible is private ownership, not personal ownership of stuff.

Those advocating for it also use it to display their total lack of perspective and analysis of the mechanics of capitalism. I.e. one can use it as a sign on one's head saying "not at home for the moment, try again later".

Then I was wrong to assume that privilege of you and you can disregard what I wrote. I tend to assume privilege of those I interact with because in the majority of cases it is true. Most people with privilege also are quite unaware of it. As I think it is our moral imperative to stand up for our comrades in need, I will continue to urge those with positions to act to do so and not get pacified on the expense of those that will seriously hurt from it.

I suppose, but a three finger swipe still only needs one hand (I think it is the same on macbooks) so should work fine.

Also, I think nihilism in some cases actually displays privilege. Apart from being socialist, I would probably not be the prime target of fascist reactionary and nationalistic behavior. Therefore I do not think I can morally allow myself to laugh about it at all, but rather channel despair into rage and willingness to fight back.

How could it get any worse? Will the nukes start flying?

Yeah, maybe. Despite the US' best efforts to fuck things up, much of the people around the world has gotten it better the last hundred years.

Use libinput-gestures or... Wayland.

Laughing while fascists rise to power is sad. Hope the US does not bring the rest of the world with them while crashing and burning.

I think something general on methods in cognitive behavioral therapy could be useful. It is boring, but effective in my experience.
