You are right that you did not mention being a home owner anywhere, but the inability for people to be so is a very fair reason to want to be living at home. That young people cannot be financially independent is a problem made by the older generations. The same young people may be working and contributing at home, without having said economic freedom.

Art has value and needs to be produced. What is the conclusion you want to make about it with regards to ownership of property?

[–] Urist@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 years ago (4 children)

Producing value is expected in most societies.

How did you not connect producing value with ownership of property?

Why is being economically disenfranchised corrolated to not producing value? I could understand an inverse corrolation however.

What do you even mean by universal truth? In math this makes sense, but not here. You cannot say anything meaningful in this context using such a qualifier. The closest you get to universal truth is that people have some property, unfortunately, so that saying certain things makes you popular because it is what people want to hear, regardless of truth value.

For 2., to be successful mostly so, unfortunately.

To be fair, the military junta in Egypt are cooperating heavily with Israel in it's genocidal efforts due to geopolitical reasons.

Also, why the fuck should they not have access to ps3, books and such. Prison is about taking away one's freedom, not about putting people in psychological or physical distress. In Norway we want convicts to be in a better state when they come out than when they got incarcerated (though Breivik will most likely never come out). Who wants to live next to a person who have been 20 years in solitary, I mean come on.

Tadpoled vampires can!

I did not assume that. However, distinguishing who is to blame is important in order to learn from the past. Blaming conscripts and politicians equally is shifting blame away from those who were responsible.

War criminals are never not guilty and many of these kids became exactly that. However, many were also forced into service under threat of violence or were the victims of indoctrination (as kids still), which we need to acknowledge was not their responsibility. Young people are always the ones fighting the wars of the older generations. In Nazi Germany they pretty much had to fight for the nazis because their parents and grandparents thought nazism was cool.
