You cannot block a user that already send you a message.

You also cannot delete a DM unless the administrator helps you. If you receive abusive material you're more or less stuck with it.

I don't want DMs, but I must accept them now.

The thing is, there's no benefit whatsoever.

That's not entirely true of course. A native app allows for certain interaction with the OS that is restricted when it's a PWA.

For example: I doubt the Voyager PWA can interact with Shortcuts on iOS/iPadOS/macOS at all in comparison to some native apps for which the developers integrated Shortcut support.

That said, one of the reasons why I personally like Voyager is that it's cross platform. No more 'What platform are you using?'. One can simply refer to vger.app and be done. Would be even better if you can sign up under Voyager as well.

That's indeed pretty funny :)

Dutchy here.

Why?

Shouldn't you ask that question on https://lemmy.ml/c/lemmy_support?

You don't need to allow other people on your server.

If you start your own server, you moderate yourself.

Whether others want to federate with your server is up to them.

And set a cup of coffee?

Much like Meta has decided to join the fediverse, Reddit could also decide to setup it's own instance(s) and federate with the existing Lemmy instances.

What is your opinion about that? Should your instance block a Reddit instance? Or would you welcome it?

A judgment was published today, in which a subdistrict court judge ruled that a tenant was allowed to pay a lower rental price, because the house gets too hot. The primary reason is the inability of the tenant to shield sunlight from entering the house.

In this case, yhe rental company apparently was located in Germany. From a procedural point of view, it might be interesting to know that a rental agreement that is established between a tenant living in The Netherlands and a company/landlord located in another EU member state is subject to Dutch law and a Dutch court has jurisdictio

The rental company argued that it was not possible to make adjustments to the house without prior consent from the VvE. Although the judge acknowledged that, the judge also mentioned that the tenant is not in a position to change the opinion of the VvE. The rental company as a member of the VvE is.

The tenant took a wise step and approached a technical expert company that assessed the problem and wrote a report. That cost the tenant €2000, but the judge considered reimbursed those costs by sentencing the rental company to pay for the report.

The judge decided that the rental price should be reduced with 10% for as long as the rental company does not resolve the defect.

Personally speaking, I'll probably be commenting mostly in this community and https://feddit.nl/c/juridisch depending on the whole API situation.

If you want to follow the community, it's probably easiest to do so by RSS. Several clients are under development, like https://wefwef.app/ which works surprisingly well considering it's alpha status.

Looking forward to continue commenting on rental situations in The Netherlands, both in Dutch and in English.
