Industry needs high density power. Which renewables cannot provide.

Houses: renewables

Businesses: renewables

Industrial and (some) data centers: nuclear

Otherwise it's going to be: renewables and coal or gas. Those last two are terrible so go nuclear!

A nice summary: https://robertbryce.substack.com/p/the-iron-law-of-power-density-part

Thanks! Here's the high level description from there:

"Gemini models build on top of Transformer decoders (Vaswani et al., 2017) that are enhanced with improvements in architecture and model optimization to enable stable training at scale and optimized inference on Google’s Tensor Processing Units. They are trained to support 32k context length"

Is this a transformer model? Any details?

“You are promising America tonight, you would never abuse power as retribution against anybody?”

“Except on Day One,”

Oh look. An exact quote where Trump says he'll abuse power. Go ahead. Still waiting for a prior election "exact same line"

Come on. Should be easy!

True. They are very noisy but the nurses all seem initially concerned with claustrophobia.

Hahaha yes. Now convict them all!

Not new to the technology side. I'm familiar with big data tech; eg several years experience with Spark. I can throw some stuff together with tensorflow. Was once a graphics dev so linear algebra is familiar.

The math for statistics, probability, regression analysis is where I'm weak.

I used to go spelunking... I honestly can't answer you. Kinda neat but mostly just being in the total dark in a tiny space surrounded by rocks.

On the plus side i can basically fall asleep in an MRI

I vote yes. Tho I'm a newb at both! So how much does my vote count? Who knows!

When asking for plans: ask for 1 year, 2 year, and 5 year product and technology North stars. Should be pretty vague for the 5 year but at least should have some direction figured out.

Depending on the org the tech side might best be answered by the principle engineers not directors.

Thanks for the "wall of text"! Also, the meme is good.

I didn't know long form writing was inherently bad to some TIL 😂

Tell you what. I'll even ignore the ecological fallacy you all love.
