I am also hoping and waiting for a modchip or exploit. I'm curious to see what the hardware can actually do when its removed from the chains of big N. I used to have an NSO online subscription near the start of the program but I havent had it since around when they added the expansion pass. I agree with you that Nintendo needs another kick in the pants from consumers so they start acting right. Bring them back to their Wii U days, or Sony's early PS3 days.

I'm all for a nintendo downfall. The last time we had one we got Mario Maker, Splatoon, MK8, Pikmin 3, BotW and we also got a free $60 digital game with a purchase of a physical $60 game. The online service was free, we got themes, there was actual character in the console through system music, creative UI and pack in games. It was great other than the fact you had to have a PC or buy another console to play third parties.

Used pixels can easily be found for under $400, and CalyxOS supports a few Motos that can be found for under $200.

Why? Did you know about custom ROMs such as GrapheneOS and CalyxOS before the purchase?

I think I'm okay for now, my budget this month is a bit tight. I appreciate the offer though! :)

If they're less tech inclined they should use YUNOHOST. Its a Debian based distro thats been around for years. They've got preconfigured packages and everything is done via the webUI. Theres no reason to involve an LLM that frequently gives outdated and bad information.

I use Jellyfin for music and shows. Jellyfin made it easier for me to sort the ripped CDs by directory instead of all in one shared Dir.

Also, telling people to use an LLM to figure out how to self host is like telling a 16yo to play GTA to learn how to drive.

They might figure it out, they may just kill hookers and rob a bank without ever learning how to drive the car.

Here's a full guide by the FUTO organization that consists of over 13 hours of information on self hosting and how to do it step by step.

Not to mention the fact theyd be expecting me to write well enough to be able to reread it later. Even if I wrote it at half my typing speed I still would not be able to make that shit out.

For those confused ab the headline, an NSO price increase may be "necessary". (the online service that has no servers and is entirely P2P, yeah that one.)

They are not requiring you to have NSO to use your console
