I have been to the vatican, did a France-Italy tour in highschool. Being raised Lutheran (rich person church) I knew at a young age that they were very selective about which rules the leaders wanted to talk about. Its a catch 22. Jesus said to reject material possession as a goal in life, however the church wants you to make more money so you can tithe more.

War on your doorstep as an american doesnt look like enemy soldiers in the street. More like you wake up one day with no power, no tap water, no phone service, no internet, no way to get news or ask for help. Eventually a cop car rolls down the street loudspeaker blaring shelter in place orders, national guard will bring food and water later yadda yadda and all because we are extremely complacent towards security of utilities in the cyber space

Some relatives arent invited to my wedding because although I dont like my sil's spouse on a personal level, they are trans, they are invited and they will be protected. I would rather spend time with someone decent who I dont get along with than someone biggoted who I used to get along with.
