Seen it in the Caribbean, I expect it's plenty common in places where the sun is a deadly laser.

... as an economic sanction well into the war, Lincoln outlawed slavery.

Expanding on this --

It's important to note that the Emancipation Proclamation freed slaves only in Confederate-controlled states, and not in Union border states, as well as welcoming any of those freed people into the Union Army. This served the multiple purposes of: creating chaos in the Confederacy; negatively impacting the economy of the Confederacy; forcing states in rebellion to expend more resources on controlling the enslaved people within their borders (and by extension, fewer resources on waging war); and increasing membership in the Union Army.

New battery is cheap. Subaru headgaskets are not.

That must be why the lower courts are doing the thing where they go "Yeah, that was totally illegal, but we're gonna let it stand anyway."

“Even assuming that the IGA comports with Article II, Plaintiffs’ inability to perform their duties for 30 days is not irreparable harm. Moreover, if the IGs were reinstated, the President could lawfully remove them after 30 days by providing the required notice and rationale to Congress.

The "irreparable harm" is that the president is being allowed to break the law without consequence. Reinstate them, and if he wants to fire them again, make him do it.

The squirrels on campus back in the day were so used to people. We'd go with a bag of peanuts and they would all come running. Some would sneak in and steal them out of the bag, others would eat them out of your hand, a couple would go wherever you led them, including on top of my head or in the palm of my outstretched hand. And then sit there and eat the peanuts.

Revolutions are never "legal".

You anti-gun and anti-car people ...

I'm carrying right now. If you pull the trigger, you are responsible for the bullet.
