Project. New Project.new.new

What kind of OOP hell have I fallen into here?

[–] TrippaSnippa@aussie.zone 3 points 2 days ago

You're way too late with that one unfortunately

It's a long bow to draw, but you could argue that AMD contributed to killing Clear Linux by taking back a lot of market share (particularly in the lucrative server market), forcing Intel to make big budget cuts, which included Clear Linux.

In reality, Intel's problems are largely self-inflicted. However, I don't think they'd be in as much trouble as they are if AMD wasn't also in such a strong competitive position.

True, but I was a child and was not old enough to remember how strict the Australian classification rules for video games were back then.

There was a time before the R18+ classification for video games existed that some violent games were refused classification (Left 4 Dead 2 being one of the most prominent examples; the gore and dismemberment were cut out, but the blood was still red and it was trivial to restore the gore), but that stopped being an issue about 15 years ago.

video games have to have green blood.

This is completely untrue.

I need a phone, a custom-made processor, a lithium-ion battery, a liquefied natural gas tanker ship, a life insurance policy and a washing machine.

Samsung: you're not going to believe this

I have never had my phone searched for memes (or at all, for that matter) when entering China.

I've no idea whether that's something that would be totally unacceptable to Australia or not.

China is our largest trading partner and our government has made a significant effort to rebuild relations with China since the previous government trashed the relationship. I don't have a source handy, but I recall seeing a poll that found that at least a plurality of Australians would not support joining a hypothetical war against China over Taiwan, and I think that was before Trump took over again. Australian public opinion of the US is in freefall like in so many other countries, so I can't imagine support for going to war with China would have increased in the last 5 months.

I don't care for pineapple on a burger but a fried egg on a works burger is chef's kiss. The rest of the world is missing out.

We won't. Our government is still trying to pretend that everything is fine and normal in the US despite winning the recent election in a massive landslide based partially on anti-Trumpism sentiment. I'd love to see Albo prove me wrong but I'm not holding my breath.

Nah mate it's fine. Everything is totally cool and normal in the US, mate. The US is still a totally reliable ally and we're definitely going to get those submarines that we're paying billions for with no guarantees that we'll actually get any. Nothing to worry about, mate.
