is that a common street configuration in australia? I think it should always be the fast lane, which is eliminated. That would making indicating and giving way easier: all of it is the responsibility of the one using the faster lane.

is it a shadow ban? i think the last time my comment showed up with a little crossed out avatar.

my guess was that this was to indicate that .ml banned me, however they cannot stop me from posting as i am on a different instance. just probably not many ppl seeing the comment.

we are all numbers. lemmy.ca has a user number for you, your government has a number for you, your local library has a number for you.

that is just how a digital world works.

the ceo is just the effect, not the cause. the us laws allow such bullshit and do not protect the weak (at all). what this one ceo did was, like what many other ceo's do, immoral but legal. you cant jail someone for legal stuff.

change the system and force them to adhere to modern moral standards. if they try to pull some bs now, it is quite easy to lock them away.

you are painting an oversimplified picture.

"i am sure you'd have preferred Gandhi to pick up a gun because he was met with violence?" we can chase eachother with such oversimplifications forever.

reality is much more complicated than such simple statements. so lets not use their inflammatory nature and focus on the actual problem. which, in that case seems, that people feel disbanded by sociaty to such a degree.

that's a nice thought. however, life is not a hollywood movie, so i wouldn't count on it.

not mine, but a you get the idea. i prefer natural stone. when you have the movement in muscle memory, you are really fast - and you don't need to keep track of strokes per side.

looks like you have a setup, which you like already. so just disregard this comment 😉

i know many ppl like to use fancy diamond sharpeners. but for all my kitchen knives i use the same stone sharpening tool. you know, the one that looks like a lense (another buy for life btw). with a bit of exercise you get really quick at sharpening anything to a razors edge. my victorinox paring knifes also comply with that tool very well - might be worth a try.

maybe just don't use your 10'000$ japanese chefs knife on the stone ;-) anything else 'good quality but affordable' i have a great experience.

can't believe they forgot to implement bool IsTrue(bool) and bool IsFalse(bool) 🙄
