I used to be straight edge (or queer edge?), but gave up a few years ago. I need my vices just so I don't feel dead inside 24/7.

I watched Gattaca for the first time and I introduced my partner to the movie Upgrade. Gattaca was an interesting piece to watch. After seeing Upgrade, both of us had to recover from the psychological trauma it caused. I've seen the movie quite a few times by now, but the ending still punches me in the gut.

Arthur Dent will be delighted about that news story.

And I just tested the hot sauce Da bomb beyond insanity. Long story short, it lives up to its name.

Mein bester Freund kommt aus Cork, er hat mal ein paar Tipps für euren Trip in den Süden aufgeschrieben.

nice pubs in cork: abbotts alehouse; my favourite pub, fantastic beer selection, staff and regulars are amazing for chats. bierhaus, friary, Franciscan well, sin e, coopers corner, Shelbourne, rising sons are all good places with either good irish trad scene or local breweries on tap, all fairly close to each other. There's also impala, the raven (awesome cocktails), the vicarstown, the roundy and the woodford for another cluster of nice pubs, some good food in basically anywhere between paul st and Patrick st, Washington st and oliver plunkett st have some great pubs and restaurants too. I might just put a blob over half the city centre and say 'go there'.

and for southern Ireland in general, Waterford is nicer than people would say, especially if there's a festival of some kind going on, there's like 3 picturesque towns per km of coastline for county cork and Kerry, with special mention going to dingle, bantry and kinsale.

activities in the city, I haven't looked too hard into but there's an opera house, crane lane seems to be the biggest 'casual music' venue with a few more smaller ones around, plenty boat ride stuff especially in cobh (short train ride out, basically bray without the delusion of being a different place) and a comedy club does regular amateur nights. I went on a nice tour thing of a chocolate factory as well. ^^

Those places are lovely, of course I know then - I'm from there :D

I'm queer and once had a date with a black woman from the States while living in Dublin, Ireland. She asked me if I could be her local tourist guide. Sure thing!

Walked her all across the shitty overpriced city centre. At some point she asked me:

"Am I the only black person around here?"

Eventually decided to ditch the CC and take a taxi to my local area.

Waltzed into my regular pub holding hands, cuddeling.

The entire place filled with white cis locals went dead silent like in a bad cliche movie.

"Harry, two pints of the black stuff, will ye?"

Peeps realised that at least I was a local and continued minding their own business.

Jeez...

The basic mindset of our dog. :D

Music. You can hear my eyes rolling when there's pop music being played anywhere near me or when the children / teenagers in my class ask me for the x-th time to teach them fucking Taylor Swith. 🙄

I just nuked my account and fecked off to Lemmy after the API kill.

I don't think so since they are divorced and retired.

I'm the person responsible for my surname becoming extinct worldwide. It was a very rare one and I was the only one left being able to pass it on. Too bad I changed my surname when I got married, plus I'm queer. Double kill for that legacy. The last few people on this planet with my previous surname will be the last ones.
