Yeah that conflict runs deep.

There's the open source Alovoa, but of course it's still far away from mainstream.

Ohh you mean the "pay for every little thing" -feature? Dang I really liked that

Hyvä havainnekuva. Eipäs olekkaan tuolla vielä uusissa systeemeissä tullut poljettua, mutta analyysisi vaikuttaa oikealta..

Thanks this is great!

In general I find that newsoutlets use way too little maps. Like to they really expect me to memorize all the street names even in my own city??

Microwave UIs suck so bad. I've yet to find an improvement on the classic two analog knobs system, where one controls power and the other sets time.

There wasn't even a map

On the other hand there's no guarantee that you'd remember the dream if you were to sleep on.

OPs reasons may be wrong, but the conclusion is nonetheless correct: Big tea did scam you.

I like them for sure! It's a rather traditional earthy profile with some citrus standing out, and not too much alpha.

No experience with rhizomes but looks easy enough. Yeah we can try that 👍🏻

Not nearly as bad as I thought. Mostly just some scale.

(those commercial beer makers often have exposed coils in the bottom, so it's no worse than that.)

Hey!

I just found out about KSP and really want to get into it. However I'm a bit a confused about the best way to begin. Here are some questions about the setup:

  1. Apparently KSP2 isn't all that great and I should just get the original game?

  2. Given I did that, should I get DLCs? Do they add meaningful content or are they just overlapping with mods?

  3. Mod recommendations? Not looking to make the game needlessly complicated, but just the kinda mods that a beginner would consider improvements.

  4. Install method? Steam Linux version, direct download Linux version or windows version through Proton?

Thanks!

PS. KSP is on Steam sale until 11.9!

Sleeping pad sizes seem to be standardized somehow like this:
normal: 183cm x 55cm
long: 195 cm x 65cm

I.e. the longer is also wider. I need extra length but not the width. (It creates complications with the limited tent floorspace.)

So, do you know any sleeping pads with dimensions around 195 cm x 55cm?

So far I have really only found two: Robens Vapour 60 and Robens Primavapour 60.

These work alright for warm weathers but a pad with higher R-value is still missing from my radar.

Rain jackets intended for road cycling tend to be just jerseys with a waterproof membrane, which sucks in every other situation of life. I'm looking for something more versatile.

MTB gear is usually quite fully featured, often just not very packable. E.g. I really enjoy my Endura MT500 II rain jacket. It has pockets, ventilation zips and a helmet compatible hood. In my vision the perfect travel jacket would be similar but from a more lightweight/packable fabric.

The best I've found so far is Montbell Versalite, which checks all the boxes except over the helmet hood, as it's not intended for helmet wearing sports. (Sure one can wear the hood under the helmet too, but it would be nicer to wear it on top.)

Are you aware of any alternatives that would have a helmet compatible hood? Or just otherwise good jackets with different compromises?

Spending all day everyday on bike saddle puts a special emphasis on comfort. Share your trusty favorites! (And why not the ones that didn’t work too)

I haven't been getting emails from a few recent notifications. The most recent mail is from 14.6

Looking for recommendations of "traditional" battle card games where you don't have to buy new expansions every few months. (Being able to grind the cards with playtime doesn't count.)

I know that there are some decent open-source MTG rule-engines which makes MTG a viable option. (xmage, forge)

Then Slay the Spire comes to mind, possibly there are other good solitares as well?

It's crucial that you choose your camp. No arguments required, vote on my comments.

It's a beer recipe planning / brewday helper software.

Personally I've been using it for years and been really happy with it.

Komia!

Alternativeto is not itself FOSS or anything, but it's nonetheless a handy tool for finding open alternatives for proprietary software & services.

There's an Open Source filter under Licenses.

I've found a lot of good stuff there.

I didn't realize that being a supporter would warrant me a real paper bulletin!

What a pleasant surprise. Feels way more personal than some pdf file which I wouldn't likely read.

An interesting bit of mathematical modelling on elecitons. I wasn't aware of the Condorcet paradox.
