You may consider what it is you're looking to get out of an MMORPG before you just jump in. Speaking as someone who played MMOs for about a decade (mostly WOW, but several others as well), you would be surprised how insidiously that type of game can alter your habits. Also, MMORPGs could be absolutely mind numbing at the height of their popularity, modern MMOs are so heavily streamlined that I would argue many aren't even all that fun to play anymore.

I'm not saying MMOs are bad, or that you won't enjoy them, but maybe just think about what the fun you're seeking looks like.

Well yes, but this isn't Wizards.

Momentum is building. There has to be a critical mass for a movement like we are talking about to be effective.

It's uncanny that they managed to gut the national weather service the same year that we have had the strangest summer weather i can remember. There have been days this July that have been downright pleasant. I was too cold in the pool a couple days ago. Weird in Texas.

This is exactly the point that I gave up at like 15 years ago. Just let it go.

I'm so scared that you're right. I have been sitting here watching the "don't let games die" movement just explode with support in what feels like a week and feeling bittersweet about it. I'm really happy that the movement is getting so much attention, but in contrast https://generalstrikeus.com/ has slowly crept up 100,000 new signatures in the months since I became aware of it.

It's depressing that something so important can't even approach the movement that keeping old video games around already has.

Honestly it's hard to even get in the mood. Everything related to the 4th this year feels like satire.

His wife is getting fucked and he's asking for more. 'Round these parts we call that a cuck.

The news is that it did in fact work. You may think it's very clever to point out the obvious effect, but stupid people (republicans) need to hear over and over again that these programs have a positive effect and aren't just intended to impinge on their freedumbs.

It's very likely that a gondola can actually hold double the weight it is rated for.

Y'all, Helldivers 2 is just so much fun. I would not have assumed at the beginning of 2024, just after completing Baldur's Gate 3, that I would be championing an always online squad shooter - but this game is just so damn enjoyable. Furthermore, the community has been so engaged and invested in the spirit of liberty that it's made me prioritize a style of game that I thought I had mostly left in my past.

Now we're in the middle of this huge nonsense with PSN and it has completely sucked all the air out of the room. I understand why people are upset and I don't agree with the shit that Sony is trying to pull. I just want to keep this magic going.

I don't have much to say other than try to maintain some empathy for Arrowhead, as this seems to be out of their hands. They genuinely seem to want to just make a kick-ass game.

Keep up the good work Helldivers.

Arrowhead has been curating the game with a Game Master named Joel. Everyone thank Joel for giving our missions that human touch.
