Just tried it for a bit and the performance seems slightly better than on Xenia. Crucially though, the game just looks much cleaner right out of the gate presumably since the game just looks nicer on Switch than it did on the 360. I'll try a 60fps unlock patch and see what that does.

The worst part is the wack Nintendo button layout. It's like I'm playing Japanese PS1 games.

Well, I'm going to give it a shot, let's see how it shakes out.

I don't think anyone is emulating PS4 in any meaningful sense currently- AFAIK PS4 emulation only runs homebrew and maybe 2D indie games at the moment.

The Xbox 360 is even farther behind than the Switch and it's not trivial to run on my system. Then again, Switch emulation has much more interest and work put into it, so it may even out

I just looked that up and it's definitely what these guys were copying, they just put Xbox buttons on it.

Well, I have the battery in the phone right now and I'm attempting to charge it since it didn't seem to have any juice left and it's acting a bit weird.

First, the phone's charging LED blinks, then the screen shows the battery charging screen for a split second, then the first frame of the boot sequence pops up briefly, then it goes back to black and the charging LED flashes briefly again, rinse and repeat.

I assume it's not looking good for the battery. I'll give it a moment and see if it holds a charge

Thanks! I'll give it a go, hopefully there's still life in it

I don't have a voltmeter on hand, but the battery is not puffed out at all. The positive and negative terminals did have some blue gunk form on them for the first few days I had it drying out though, like I said.

Didn't the RetroArch guys just steal DuckStation for a core without permission?

It's also clunky as hell. Unfortunately I have to use it for a bunch of systems because the phone I use for emulation is so old and underpowered. For example, as much as I love the standalone Snes9x some games just crackle and stutter on my phone so I have to resort to the Snes9x 2010 RetroArch core.

I also use it for GameBoy/Color/Advance because mGBA doesn't have an Android port.

Definitely- I have a number of other emulators and all of them have much nicer UIs than RetroArch. Unfortunately I'm limited to RetroArch for a number of systems

From what I understand rotating developers seem like a standard practice at Microsoft-owned game studios. Like they only contract you for a set period and then you're out. Back when Gears 5 was still actively updated it seemed like every single community-facing developer got rotated out and all of them seemed to say something about their two years or whatever being up in their farewell messages.

I actually like the centipedes, they're frankly terrifying and make the depths feel appropriately intimidating. Crucially, they can't fly and you can run away from them. They're also huge and with their glowing eyes they're easy to see from ways off even in the dark so you can keep a wide berth.

I just hate all the hyper-aggressive and fast flying mobs since it feels like there's nothing you can do to escape them.
