Every time I see an older person's cast iron, it's covered in that charcoal black garbage that they think is seasoning. Hopefully whoever inherits them strips and reasons them, but so many people have this "wisdom" passed down to them that I kind of doubt it.

If fucking only.

I'm actually curious, do you use the browser version or a Lemmy app? I'm on Boost and I would have to click into the community if I wanted to see anything more than its name and instance.

I've never seen a community's sidebar, since I use Lemmy on my phone like probably half of all users.

I take issue with you defining "being a non-woman and commenting" as "badly interacting."

Just because you keep your step stool next to the toilet doesn't mean you're Squatty Potty-ing.

I think the primary thing is that he mouthed off about something he didn't understand, and then doubled down at every possibility. The scrutiny generated by this has then revealed that he's objectively not a good programmer, which begs the question why he feels he has any authority at all in this arena. I haven't heard of any egregious harassment heading his way over this, so I'm curious why you're so invested in defending him.

Unfortunately, I only learned that h3 was fully off the rails after snark got pseudo-locked. All I know about Destiny is that JonTron said the white supremacist stuff to him and that he is generally agreed to suck.

As someone who had never heard of him before, this has been amazing. It's like Lemmy woke me up to tell me a new lolcow just dropped.

Every time I hear about this, my main take away is "why would you name a company Astronomer?"

I think the big point of confusion is why it's cheeky to go to this restaurant.

That's not a whoosh, they were making their own joke. Jesus.

OLED Dark Mode? (lemmy.world)
submitted 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) by TheTetrapod@lemmy.world to c/boostforlemmy@lemmy.world

I was just wondering if there was any intention of bringing an OLED friendly dark mode (like, just a pitch black background) to Boost for Lemmy? I'm pretty sure there was one on the Reddit version, and I've always preferred the aesthetic, although admittedly my battery goes further than it used to.

EDIT: After seeing spiffpitt's comment, I did a couple seconds more investigation than the other 10 times I've checked in the last 2 years. The AMOLED dark mode is available under "Customize Colors", which is greyed out if "Dynamic Colors" is checked.
