That must be nice.

Where do you see an interstate highway in the pic?
Good plate armor was nowhere near as ungainly as many people imagine. A knight wearing a well-made suit would actually retain a surprising amount of agility and speed. The downside was that they obviously had to be custom made and were so expensive that only the wealthiest nobles could afford them.
That's why navies stopped using broadsides and went to turrets about 150 years ago. Well, it's one of the reasons anyway. Turrets also worked a lot better once you shifted to steam power and didn't have to worry so much about rigging. Additionally, you could mount a much bigger gun on a turret than you could using broadsides on the sides of a wooden sailing ship.
Nice! I'm a Telecaster man as well! Me and Jesus.
Riots are not terrorism. Terrorism is a specific type of tactic used by organized groups to wage asymmetric warfare against a state actor whereas rioting is a spontaneous type of crowd violence that can be motivated by a number of different factors from sports to politics to religion or racism/ethnic tension.
You want to blur the distinction between the two because like terrorism BLM scares you and is therefore "bad," but that's not a good reason to throw away what is in fact a meaningful difference.
If you need more evidence that rioting and terrorism are not the same thing, you need only look at the fact that law enforcement takes very different approaches in how it seeks to prevent rioting vs terrorism. Were they essentially somehow the same thing, this would not be the case.
It's "set foot" goddammit, not "step foot." I fucking hate that. Never do it again.
Maybe that's the point? It looks like a lot of people are taking it seriously.
Yes, polarization is the relevant factor, as I said. What part about this do you not understand?
It's not as if Europe has a great record in this sense either. One look at the last century tells us everything we need to know about how susceptible European populations are to polarization.
The senior officer corps is dominated by highly-competent and committed individuals who absolutely despise Trump for many very obvious reasons. He may have some popularity among the enlisted ranks, but they aren't the people who know how the machinery operates on a macro scale. Real warfare requires coordination on a massive scale and nobody outside of the Pentagon is in any position to make that happen. Do you know how to command a carrier group or an infantry division? Do I? The only people who do are elite high-ranking officers.
Right? In fact, to the contrary, it's a super complicated and locked down process and the people who are meant to actually execute it are among the most highly-trained and vetted in the US military and are obliged to pass an ongoing series of exams in order to maintain eligibility for service on the nuclear arsenal.
Said no one. Ever. Except you.
