You say that as if you think it hasn't been tried before.

It's because when people in highly-sensitive positions of power do things that they want to keep secret, they become a security risk by opening themselves up to the threat of blackmail.

Whether or not they should want to keep their whoring secret is a different matter between them and their families and their voters. I don't have a censorious take on that, I'm just telling you why it's a security risk and is newsworthy.

I heard someone --don't remember who-- call it "feral" capitalism, which I like. Capitalism has to be controlled and domesticated or it goes wildly off the rails very quickly.

There's a blast from the past. I used Telnet as an undergrad back in the 90s.

Too right. Bean never met anyone he wasn't prepared to like. He always had more friends than me, was always up in various neighbor's business and in general maintained a neighborhood inspection regime.

Me and my stripey boy, Chief Inspector Bean, we were together for nearly 20 years and I will miss him until the day I die.

Clatskanie is a good one too.

"Brew pub" is the correct term, at least in my experience as a Portlander.

A sufficiently large enough minority of the senior officer corps has to be on board as well. There's no one in the enlisted ranks who knows how to operate the vast machinery of the US military. How does one operate a carrier group, for example, or an infantry division or even the nuclear arsenal? That shit is insanely complicated, and that's not even mentioning logistics. The Pentagon would have to be on board or it would never work.

My wife and I have taken to naming our pillows. There's Flat Agnes, Lumpy Rutherford and The Rock, off the top of my head. I would have to consult my wife for the others.
