Nope. There's nothing special about Americans just like there's nothing special about any nation or large group of people. You have to be deeply ignorant of history to think otherwise. We're all the same species and when things play out in specific ways it's always for a similar set of reasons and circumstances.

As Dan Carlin would say, "it's a human thing." You think this kind of insanity can't happen in your country because it hasn't yet. But you're wrong. It can and has happened, many many times throughout history, in various forms, all over the world.

Again, Americans aren't special and you have to be deeply stupid and/or ignorant to think otherwise.

If you have to ask...

Polls a year out from the election. They have zero predictive value with regard to the ultimate outcome. Any pollster will tell you this. In fact, they have been telling us precisely this, but maybe not all of us are paying attention.

These results are still deeply disturbing.

Toyota makes way too much money off of the Tacoma is why specifically. The Hilux would undermine that market by being significantly cheaper. People are willing to pay ridiculous amounts, even for used Tacomas.

Sure but you could do that with a regular-sized truck too.

I'm saying that you're drunk.

Are you a moron or what? WTF are you on about?

That's because they are authoritarians too.

I downvoted them because while they're correct, they are not evaluating the risk of a Trump win correctly. None of this will matter if Trump wins. None of it.

Fortunately we have a year to change their idiot minds. Democracy is on the line. Sitting this one out because we have hurt feelings is not an option. These people clearly don't understand risk management and assessment.

Journalism is easily one of the most self-critical professions there is. There are entire publications and non-profits dedicated solely to critiquing news coverage. CJR and AJR are great examples.

I am not surprised that you appear to be unaware of this as media illiteracy is the norm for most citizens.

Additionally, who else would we even want to criticize news coverage apart from an expert who understands all of the nuts and bolts of how the industry works?

Simply being a consumer of news doesn't make you an expert in journalism any more than consuming medical care makes you a doctor.

In my experience the vast majority of people who have no formal training, or have never worked in mass communications tend to labor under a huge set of misconceptions about how the news industry operates and what really goes on in news rooms. People honestly have no clue and tend towards being confidently and even disastrously incorrect.
