Boris Johnson (on camera): “there are no cameras here”

Man (pointing) “there’s one right there!”

Lying. It’s like breathing for these assholes.

More meat for the grinder.

Would you like to know more?

I was going to tell you a time travel joke, but you didn't like it.

Yes. We had it so good. I voted Remain because I had no idea of the true implications of leaving. However, I wouldn’t knee-jerk vote Rejoin, because I have no idea of the full implications of that. Unless the choice was “rejoin with the exact same conditions we had before”, I’d have to do an awful lot of reading.
Because, unlike the politicians who want to fit complex socioeconomic policies into a tweet, reality is much more complicated than that. And I’m not putting my vote to something I don’t understand. That’s not socially responsible.

Isn't that because at the root of greed is the inability to be satisfied? Why don't billionaires, when they have literally money beyond avarice, more than they could possibly spend in a thousand lifetimes, just say "nope, I don't need any more, everything else I earn can go to charity"?

But they don't. They get richer. And despite the public image of them, they'll still try and screw the regular workers out of as many toilet breaks as they can get away with in order to maximise how much they earn.

It's almost beyond evil.

With just a jump to the left...

You can sell the fine painting of the Trident, but these have been around for so long now that almost everyone realises they're a scam, so you'll be lucky to get 10% of what you paid for it...

Just personal opinion, but I think the Suits see animation as 'less important', so they don't worry about pandering to the lowest common denominator and assume the people that watch them are familiar with at least the general strokes of the characters. But for live action, they're trying to get in people who have (somehow) never seen a comic book film before, so they need to give us Batman's tragic origin story again and hand hold us the whole way through.

Proof we need more Brits around here, the answer is clearly “sausages”… 😁

I believe the officer in charge of the firing squad has a pistol that they'll use to finish you off, but that's still not my definition of quick or painless.

For the record, I'm like 99% against the death penalty (I could be convinced if the crime was bad enough, the perpetrator was completely unrepentant and there was absolutely zero doubt of guilt, but that last one is a very high bar to clear), but can someone explain why instead of nitrogen, they don't use carbon dioxide? Doesn't that have a very similar "you fall asleep and never wake up" effect?

Personally, I think the problem with Galactica nowadays is that the world is generally far more depressing than it was when the show came out. I can take dark and gritty, but it was more fun then. Now, I prefer something more lighthearted.

Like the flashback episode of SNW, where we saw Chapel and M'Benga during the Klingon War. My first though was "this is awesome, I could watch a whole show like that", but shortly afterwards, I realised "nope, that would be way too much, bring back Captain Daddy making jokes about how flipping the communicator open is better than tapping a commbadge.

Or maybe I'm just more of a miserable bastard than I was 20 years ago. IDK.

But hey, for any sci-fi fan, I'd certainly recommend at least watching the miniseries that kicks it all off. Get a feel for the characters and the universe they're in.

I've never watched Babylon 5. Everyone always raves about it, but I don't know if I could get past the extremely dated looking effects.

Plus there's so much new content coming out. I can't criticise anyone who doesn't want to watch older stuff, because who has the time to watch it all?

That being said... you have seen Firefly, right?

Do you wanna run this ship?

Yes

Well... you can't.
