There is absolutely no evidence that speed cameras are "tax grabs". This is a lie that just keeps getting repeated.

New York is the North-American city with the most speed cameras.

  • Budget of NYC ? $115 billion dollars. (1)

  • Revenue of NYC speed cameras ? $222 million dollars (2)

  • 222 million /115 billion = 0,19304

Speeding tickets are 0.19% of New York's revenue.

If you drive above the speed limit and get a ticket, you aren't a victim. You will get over it.

Not enough attention is paid to the pain and suffering of the real victims:

It's a shame that so much taxpayer money is flowing to US multinationals.

To save money, the solution IS NOT austerity

https://psacunion.ca/psac-statement-upcoming-federal-austerity-budget

To save money, get rid of waste.

Every province, every government department, should get rid of Microsoft and Adobe.

Fox News basically owns the US Republican Party.

JD Vance knows it. He flew all the way to Montana to meet with Murdochs and senior Fox News executives.

This man has done an absolutely astonishing amount of damage to Australian democracy.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-02-19/former-pm-kevin-rudd-says-he-was-fearful-of-murdoch-media/13173242

https://www.smh.com.au/politics/federal/utterly-unaccountable-turnbull-labels-news-corp-the-most-powerful-political-actor-in-australia-20210412-p57idq.html

He has also damaged democracy in the United Kingdom and the United States. For decades, his medias have promoted climate change denialism, anti-union propaganda, and the most astonishing lies.

I still remember the headline of The Sun right before the UK referendum on European Union membership:

He is nothing less than a vicious criminal:

Shame on Australia for producing such a piece of shit.

He wouldn't have the power he has today without ordinary Australians using his medias as a source of information.

Please financially support media alternatives.

No offense to the wonderful British people, but a lot of your press is trash.

  • The Sun ? Trash.

  • The Daily Mail. Largely non-sense.

  • The Telegraph ? Official newspaper of the Tory Party. Used to employ Boris Johnson. He was lavishly paid to publish non-sense about the EU.

  • The Independent ? Now owned by Saudi Arabia and a Russian mobster.

  • The Times ? Owned by Rupert Murdoch's News of the World. The CEO is Rebekka Brooks, former editor of News of the World. She is an actual criminal.

  • The Economist ? The current chairman Paul Deighton, a friend of David Cameron. He is a Tory Lawmaker (House of Lords) that was in charge of Covid PPE contracts. According to the New York Times, Deighton gave huge contracts to companies he owned.

The only two UK papers that I actually admire are The Financial Times and The Guardian.

I'm sure there are wonderful local newspapers in Wales, Scotland, and major cities, but overall the situation looks quiet grim.
