Agreed. If there's any good that can come out of the trump administration, it'll be that the rest of the world learns to be more cooperative. At least that's what I'm hoping, wouldn't bet against the complete opposite...

OMG I've witnessed so many abusive lesbian relationships. Women can be straight up psychos too, and are often a lot more calculated about it.
I definitely see this a lot. Any time someone complains about the unaffordability of life you get a swarm of people prying into their personal details desperately trying to figure out how that person's situation is their own fault.

Nobody's suggesting it wasn't. But a lot of us have lived our whole lives with the idea that racism was generally frowned upon by most and that it was naturally dying out. I don't think many of us could have predicted how readily it would come roaring back, along with god damn nazis, FFS.
Sounds like what you're looking for is socialism, friend. It's still a scary word to many, many people, but mostly because they don't really understand what it means. But more and more people every day are finally realizing that capitalism is fucking almost all of us and needs to be stopped. Keep talking and educating, others AND yourself. It's going to take a while (possibly longer than we have as a society) to turn this behemoth, but it will only happen once enough people are on board.
