Our local library, which is usually really great, started playing loud classical music at the entrance after hours to shoo away the unhoused. I'm glad they stopped doing that after a couple months; that's lowered my usually-high opinion of them.
Almost 10 years ago, I was hanging.. maybe paper lanterns?.. in my dining room, and there was track lighting, so I was like, cool, I can just hang one off the inside of the track.
I vaporized the little metal wire when it touched the second side. I'm glad that was the worst of it. Loud pop scared the shit out of me.
I also learned how track lighting works that day. So, you know, upside?

Nobody should be allowed to hit anybody without consent. And men shouldn't be afraid of speaking up; abuse of men does happen.
That said, it's not the primary direction in which abuse happens, so I'm not sure this is a healthy way to highlight the issue.
