I have a drive in each node to which I back up VMs, and I have SyncThing on each node keeping the backups in sync across all nodes. When one goes down, I can get the VMs back up on another node very quickly. (Have only had to do it once, but it worked beautifully.)

And this is exactly why I only expose public services, through two layers of reverse proxies and docker. Everything else is over VPN only.
