Oh yeah, bangs are also a trans cheat code (just like any belted jacket or belted dress/top). They're annoying to maintain but... they can make your face look femme!

2 years is when you should start noticing changes for sure, might just be taking longer. Make sure you're at a healthy weight - I know a lot of rail thin trans girls that get upset they aren't seeing fat redistribution but, cmon girlies, you need the fat from somewhere for it to redistribute lmao. You could try weight cycling gain 10 to 15 pounds for a bit, go back down, gain again etc the E will do its work at putting it into the right place. If you have pics of yourself for your own personal timeline from 2 years ago you might be surprised how much you've changed, it's harder to notice when you're living it day by day. I didn't notice my lips had fucking changed shaped and became fuller for example, that's pretty subtle.

I hope you get FFS sooner :( I dunno, maybe one of those random great aunt inheritance where you get a cool $60K for no reason?? I just hope you do. Face dysphoria sucks.

Makeup can help and so can doing a bit of brow shaping (like you can shave your brows a bit so they curve your forehead, it softens the look up there), I hope you get FFS soon!

How long ago did you start?

Oh yeah me too, I never looked in the mirror since about puberty to one year on hrt lol. Same with videos and pictures. Couldn't have told you why before my egg cracked

I have no idea, I love being trans!

Chances are the stuff you hate about being trans are actually all the societal oppression and costs rather than the actual state of being trans. It costs a lot, yeah. Some people can be dickheads about it, yeah. Government puts up a lot of roadblocks, yeah. And of course, there can be real danger.

But none of those are inherent to transness. For me being trans is about joy! Gender euphoria. Finally being yourself. Watching yourself become who you've always wanted even before you were able to articulate it. I still wake up happy I'm a woman every day! All the bad stuff is just as real but it's just not a necessary and essential part of being trans - there were plenty reactions to what we call being transgender today all throughout history, and a lot of it was quite good in antiquity or before colonization here in north america.

Those are all normal apprehensions, I'm on the other side of the binary but feelings are similar. Just because they're typical concerns doesn't mean they shouldn't feel big - they should and do - but you're hardly the first and only man to feel the way you do. Which means you can overcome these even though they are very big problems and anxieties.

Firstly, for me and many trans people, HRT was the best decision of our lives. T is different than E, it works much faster and does different stuff but the feeling is still there.

Secondly, IF YOU CHOOSE you can keep your curves. There are curvy cis guys, they're hot, there are trans guys that choose to keep them and they're very handsome. You don't have to, top surgery can take down your chest (and you get to customize if you have nipples or not which is neat).

Considering the abuse you've been through, you probably should be going to therapy - that's a lot of trauma. You're very strong for how far you've come. Yeah everything takes time, but you can take diy HRT prior to getting a prescription for it. If there are any IRL lgbt support groups you should join them (careful, you'll probably come away with a new romantic partner from it lol happens to all of us). Hopefully there's another trans guy there who can help guide you, especially if you're going down the diy route.

To me, I think it's totally a cool coincidence that the feminizing hormones are gentle and take their time and the masculinizing hormone goes hard and quick but it kinda sucks here for you. You can stop any time, it's allowed. You can stop and pick it back up. You can choose not to start HRT! That's a valid way of being a trans man (sounds like you'd rather have it though).

You sound like a very strong, tough man and I wish the best for you.

omg what if they just keep extending the deadline forever? New debt ceiling fight!

Like if they just popped off like barbie heads apropos nothing? Yeah

Before I cracked my egg, I volunteered at an animal shelter. There was a "bad" dog (dog with behavior issues) that was reactive with males. Except for me!! That was nice in a way I didn't understand until a couple years later lmao

Let me disabuse you of this notion

Ahem

Pee pee poo poo

To say nothing of gender non conforming cis people of which there's plenty. Every time there's a trans panic over sports or bathrooms, they just bully butch women or fuck it women of colour for not conforming to the hegemonic white patriarchal conception of femininity. That's really who you want to align with? And assume youre not in their cross hairs?

[–] TerminalEncounter@hexbear.net 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's a really weird stance to take because... like... the hegemonic culture already considered your gender as a trans man or woman as "not real" so how the fuck are you gonna turn around and say "nope, we're real it's just our precious enby siblings that aren't" like that's gonna do literally anything for trans rights and liberation???

There's someone who underwent phallus preserving vaginoplasty in Ontario recently, and (transphobic) people online keep jumping on that like it's a bad thing? Like they don't understand how vaginoplasty works and that it doesn't cost "extra" to do it or that people should be allowed to do whatever the fuck they want to their bodies. So that's the crowd you want to align with if you're enbyphobic and trans?

And yeah it's a very online only thing.

I'm a pediatrics nurse in a rural area, had my first encounter with a family who insisted they get another nurse because "I made them uncomfortable." :(

In brighter news, my girlfriends bottom surgery is healing really well! I really really wanna play with it but you have to wait sooo long. We have to be chaste sapphics~
