Want to get away with the wife for a few days, not that familiar with the outskirts of Melbourne. Anyone know any good spots where mushrooms might still be in season? Is mount Dandenong any good for that?

What a strangely coded and emotionally loaded critique. "Lazy ai bros who don't understand consent"

Can't shake the pervasive feeling that every person I pass is a threat to my wife, that we might get attacked for being trans. Being around people was never easy even when I wasn't visibly queer and trans. People are exhausting and I don't trust their stated motivations. I don't like the way we're looked at, when I do make eye contact with someone I regularly see extremely negative emotions written on their face. Feel unsafe and incompetent and anger starts to build up.

I'm four months on T this month and the decision to start was pretty significantly influenced by these feelings and the fear it would only continue to get worse. It feels impossible to begin to start interacting with people again, logically I know it's the next necessary step but anxiety, trauma make it super easy to avoid indefinitely. Does anyone relate or have advice?

What if the dead plants are the friends we made along the way.

I think some of us could do with both. Too bad the only psych who spoke to the heart of trauma was private. O well

  • Supporting the democrats does not make you a safe person for some people, especially class conscious minorities and vulnerable people who were on the kill list long before Trump
  • Capitalism and patriarchy are the problem not men.
  • Blaming men as if they're a monolithic effectively ignores the spectrum of gender that exists and further alienates people who haven't had the chance to meet their own selves.
  • Blaming men has become a terf dog whistle

Do you know any international politics or national policy? As in what the country, in hand with the complicity of the middle class, has done to both it's own citizens and the rest of the world? For the entirety of its 300 year history?

No?

Time to start learning perhaps. The people who do know are the people who will help you in crisis.

There's less than nothing in it for me to change your mind about anything. You're on Lemmy and you've had a great deal of opportunity to do so on your own time.

I won't police my thoughts, opinions and language to appease liberals and centrists and I won't trust anyone who thinks that our struggle rests on that kind of approach. Unless they gutterally get it they are not my ally.

I'm glad you're losing money, it brings me joy to see the middle class finally freaking out, even if it's for reasons that are utterly selfish and blind to the real struggles minorities have been facing for decades. Maybe if you buy gold instead?
