They are pretty great. It's so therapeutic watching and photographing them. Something positive in these trying times.

Eurocucks are too funny. They don't teach y'all about personification?

Nice tongue shot! Does it have a catch? I really like that flying shot with the deer too! Good stuff.

Did you use a polarizing filter?

So many killer songs. I feel like Dire Straits is slept on. Don't get me wrong, they're definitely well known, but even then.

I took these a few days after posting my last heron photos and didn't want to spam here. A few months went by and I forgot.

I love these birds. They're so fun to watch wade around and hunt. It would truly be terrifying to be a small fish when this thing has you in its sights.

I was walking around downtown with my camera in hand and while walking next to a church caught movement out of my right eye. This whitetail doe was just walking around confused. It's not too uncommon to find deer in town, but this was like a mile away from any wooded areas. I felt bad for her because she was clearly lost, but I couldn't approach her.

Man, I hate conservatives. I know them all too well and this is them to a t.

What's better than dahlias and bees? Bees on dahlias.

Thank you. These chickadees are quite used to humans being present. These were taken near a public bird feeder. It's pretty cool, there are probably 20-30 around at most times and they'll buzz just a few inches from my head and you can feel their wing flaps. They'll get within a few inches of me and check me out. they're quite smart for a tiny bird.

Here are some bonus shots I couldn't upload earlier.

Interesting. I didn't think we had mountain chickadees here I'm way over East vs their typical range.

Did I find an IRL shiny? Is this leucism? It's rare that I see a chickadee with white feathers in its cap.

Not exactly an uncommon bird, but a hard one to photograph because they only want to scavenge on the ground and they're wary of humans. Still a cool sighting and it looks cool perched on that tree.

He just went to that side so da Vinci could take the photo.

Best to not have your back to any of your apostles. You never know when one will stab you in the back.

Absolutely gorgeous plant! Apparently Drosera anglica grows naturally a bit North of me, but hasn't been spotted in a few years. I'd love to find one in the wild.

I had some leftover pulled pork, cheese, veggies and an idea. I'm convinced pizza is the ultimate delivery platform, because it was great.

  • Homemade dough
  • Sweet Baby Rays - Sweet and Spicy BBQ sauce
  • BBQ pulled pork
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Pepper jack cheese
  • Mushrooms
  • Red and yellow peppers
  • Jalapeno pepper
  • Red onion
  • Bacon

I was testing the magnification and sharpness of my Oly 75mm-300mm and was quite impressed with how well this turned out for how affordable the lens is. I do have a macro setup, but didn't have it with me.

Hot Dad's serving up something fire. As a project that is Hot Dad, this song is unironically really good.

It has been a minute since I last posted here as my fungi options are limited with all this snow, so I'm going through my back catalog. I always seem to find COTW when on the river and unable to harvest. Not that that matters with this one, it's too far gone to be picked. I like how this one looks like a giant insect perched on the tree. These are definitely one of my favorite shrooms.

This was a test to see if my Pixel 7 Pro could handle storm photography. I'd say it did a pretty decent job. There were many failures, but I got a few decent ones.
