I've consulted in the software dev teams of dozens of major multinationals and the projects were always, without exception, some variant on "how can we replace people" or "how can we reduce costs by doing something slightly worse".

Always might be an overstatement, but this has been true over the past couple years for myself and the people I know at these companies. Especially right now - upper management seems to be deluded into thinking that LLMs can do anything, or more likely, they're just trying to sell hype like everyone else just to raise the stock price.

This is pretty much true of all consoles. People play games, not consoles, and they'll use whatever hardware they need to.

I mean, I get it, nintendo are royal pieces of shit for locking all their games down inside of a captive platform. But that's a great reason not to buy this shit.

Again, universally true of consoles, though unlike Xbox where games have become more and more crossplatform, or PS where some games are getting licensed for PC ports, Nintendo's head is so far up its own ass that it won't even let you record gameplay without worrying about a DMCA.

Fuck Nintendo, but for the same reason as Oracle: because they spend more on lawyers than the people who actually do the work creating something. Also, they could use some modern hardware for a change instead of always being multiple generations behind.

It's extremely immature and only has a few examples. I can't find a reference or any real form of documentation either, though I'm sure it exists somewhere.

If you're looking for an "efficient" programming language (you'll probably need to define that further but I'm assuming output size and compile speed), both Go (which seems to inspire this project) and Zig come to mind.

If you were previously only attracted to women, do you now consider yourself bi or pan or something else, or is it just an attraction for your husband?

Only really him, though I don't categorize myself as anything (bi, pan, straight, whatever). My only real concern is whether I find who I'm with to be attractive, and the answer to that is yes. I guess that'd make me pan?

If it's an only him thing does he feel some way about that?

As far as I'm aware, not really, but I'd have to ask. He does find my attraction to him to be important, but hasn't mentioned anything beyond that to me (maybe to his therapist but I don't want to ask him too much about that).

Been on the other side (spouse is ftm). As someone in a similar position who was not really interested in men (but now very much so to my husband), keep in mind that she does not need to be attracted to all women, just you.

My recommendation for an easy place to start, for both of you, is for you to dress up around her. Put on a dress and makeup, or some other feminine outfit (however it is you want to dress, whatever makes you feel pretty). Try to look how you want to. See if she's still attracted to you. When you're both comfortable, take it to the bedroom, and give it a shot. If she's still enjoying it, then that's what's important!

Physical transitions don't happen overnight, and I was able to get used to the changes as they happened. I still see the same person I saw when we first got together, and even though there are some physical differences, he's the same person he's always been.

The hardest part for me was the social aspect, not the attraction. While I could try to give suggestions here, if this is a struggle for you or her, seriously seek a therapist. This isn't something that's easy to overcome, and it will take time.

They've been ignoring the law since when the elections began. They're not going to start following it now.

This is even more concerning. While I'm not a fan of energy drinks, I don't think people drinking them should become unknowingly inebriated. There's also people who avoid alcohol for religious reasons, health reasons, etc.

This fuck up was pretty unacceptable.

The Guardian reviewed training materials developed by the JUF [Jewish United Federation] and the Anti-Defamation League, which both push pro-Israel agendas in the US, and found the overarching message is that criticism of Israel or Zionism is antisemitic.

Am I missing something here? The article talks only about how user data was exposed, including the data on men being discussed in private messages. I don't see any mention about any of what's being discussed in these comments.

I get that there's probably some talking behind backs or whatever going on in the app, but both criticism and defense of it seems completely irrelevant to the article in question.

If anything, the article goes to show just how wide of an impact the breach has. It not only is a violation of the users privacy (again), but also of personal information of non-users, including relationship history and sexual preferences of both the women on the app and the men they're discussing.

Sometimes I wonder what the gender field is even for anymore. In this case, it's clearly there just so you can select that option.

As an aside, a website I used to use decades ago had a relatively harmless vulnerability in its "sex" field in the profile editor, allowing you to submit any value you want, and the website would render what you submitted. The field was also specifically called "sex", not "gender". You can imagine what values people put there.
