I get that a lot of my IT colleagues don't want to faff around with self hosting email, or even running their own domain. But I really struggle with the idea that those who work in IT would ever trust their email to their ISP. That's just asking for trouble.

The rose bush has done really well this year, producing a huge number of flowers. I dead-headed it at the weekend and I am expecting a second flowering later in the year.

One of our bushes appears to have died. I gave it a good prune in October and I think that's what went and killed it. I checked a few branches and they were bone dry. I need to check the main trunk and see if there is any life left in it or if I should bite the bullet and pull it out.

Our buddleia has grown so voraciously that it has collapsed in the windy weather we have had over the last few days. I didn't prune it back enough in the spring.

I had to check it wasn’t April 1st.

Fair play to them, if they think they can do better elsewhere then have at it.

They aren't Discos unless the corners of your mouth are burning.

I sometimes think this is because of commercial real-estate, the death of the high-street, Pret not making as much money, etc.

But more often than not I think that it is because MPs and CEOs don't actually like spending time with their families. Their work is their hobby, they don't want to be 'home with the kids', and they like the office culture they have developed over their career. In the office they are important. At home they have to do the dishes.

I don't get up Clifton much - I haven't tried there yet. I'll need to remember it next time I am in need of a burger. Thanks!

"Concerns" - sure, be concerned but let the trial play out. That's the point of a trial, to assess if something works or not.

The problem with MPs is that they continually ignore facts in favour of stupidity.

I concur, but what type of salt and vinegar?

• Discos: Not as good as they were when I were a lad.
• Walkers: Consistently ok.
• Kettle: Good if you are feeling a bit posh, but the balsamic vinegar can be overwhelming.
• McCoy's Ridge Cut: Excellent.

I love a good burger, but the wife isn't so keen. Burgers are now a treat for me.. Honest Burger is my go-to chain for 'It's pretty good'.

I put the green (it's green for garden waste here) bin out on Friday and they emptied it, which I consider a win given all the local politics about strikes and stuff.

Recovering after spending the day at St Pauls Carnival (Bristol) yesterday. I was out most of the day and into the evening. By the end there were rivers of piss running down the roads. It was a good day but I don't envy those tasked with the clean-up.

I had my ear plugs in and it was still super loud when near the sound systems. Some were great, some had so much bass it drowned out everything else. I don't understand how people can stand right next to the speakers (well.. I assume drugs).

Not sure what to do today, although I think dinner is going to involve jacket spuds.

I used to go out every weekend and find them, that was about 15 years ago. I haven't done one in ages, but I feel I am at a point in life where I am refocusing my hobbies again so GC might make a reoccurrence.

I'm trying to decide what to do at the moment. I was considering the beach, or possibly a bit of geocaching. I feel like I have been stuck in the house/office all week so it will be good to get out for some fresh air.
