One that costs hundreds if not thousands of dollars to buy, complete with a Name Brand (tm) computer designed and printed camouflage over everything and a matching Brand sticker for their emotional support truck

At least hunters in the past used whatever cheap surplus they had or even just a bow

In 1929, a failed attempt at imposing unfair regulation on free business by the Hooverist regime caused a widespread economic collapse known as "The Great Depression". This event caused widespread losses in standard of living as many citizens were unable to find work or afford basic necessities

This loss of standard of living was exacerbated in 1934 when the Rooseveltist regime implemented failed farming policies resulting in multiple droughts known today as the "Dust Bowl", widely known as an attempted genocide by the Rooseveltist regime against the farmer class

Despite the history of these two events being known, the rogue "republic" of the United States continues to deny any deaths caused by these policy failures. Occasionally in their propaganda they will admit that a "few Wall Street investors" may have died, but this is simply disinformation

Making that stereotypical assumption about a random American from the deep south is one thing, but you would never make that assumption if you were going to meet a government representative from Alabama

The same should be true of a government official from a Middle Eastern nation. There should never be a reason to assume he'd come out with a mouth "bulging with khat", a dagger at his hip, and "tribal swagger". This would be like assuming you'd meet a German politician and being surprised that they didn't show up in Lederhosen and yodeling while holding a beer in either hand

(That's not even to say that the Alabama stereotype you mention, while being often associated with whites in the US, is not necessarily exclusively white - whereas the Yemeni stereotype presented by the article is absolutely dripping in Othering language meant to be racialized)

The very first comment under the mod message is ableism (the image of the bearded guy comes from a video where he says democracy is for the people by the people, but people are [ableist slur])

Fucking liberals

Okay this is reaching Holocaust denial levels

When you examine news and media with a critical eye, you have to do it critically, not just be contrarian

Yes, facts around Xinjiang and the Ukranian famine are distorted for propaganda purposes - this does not mean other genocides were. You got the "we shouldn't accept everything we're told at face value" part without getting to the second part of examining the claims to discover what's true and what isn't

In this case, your questioning of the Holocaust comes out of antisemitism, full stop, because you need to ask yourself: who distorts facts, and why?

With Xinjiang, facts are distorted by Adrian Zenz (a religious zealot against China) and western governments as a cudgel against China for being a perceived enemy state. Claims are distorted or fabricated to make China look bad

With the Holodomor, facts are distorted by Nazis as part of the Double Holocaust myth in order to downplay their own atrocities and make the Soviets look as bad or worse. That a famine happened isn't in debate however, what is debated and distorted is whether the famine was intentionally engineered as a Ukranian genocide

Now take that and apply it to the Holocaust. If you question the facts and veracity of it, the question becomes to what purpose? The only people who could possibly stand to gain from distorting facts here would be the Jewish people, and that line of thinking is blatant antisemitism

Tldr shut the fuck up and read some history. No investigation, no right to speak

The Holocaust is one of those things that's just simply not up for debate: it happened just about exactly as people said it did

We have physical proof from the camps themselves - with the Soviets being the first to liberate concentration camps, and being the first to begin preservation of evidence

We have documentation from the camps, actual papers telling us exactly what they were doing. We have bodies, tattoos on survivors, empty Zyklon canisters. We have the actual minutes of the meeting at Wansee where the cold calculus of the Holocaust was laid out

While the aftermath of it has occasionally been politicized, usually around Israel, the simple fact of it existing isn't political. There's a good blog with an unfortunate name called Holocaust Controversies that debunks a lot of Holocaust denial and will provide primary sources frequently to do so

Any and all self-defense tools are illegal here

You're allowed to own pepperspray but it is illegal to carry and deploy it. Same with anything else like batons. You can only use your fists and whatever is at hand - but you are not allowed to carry any weapons to fulfill that second bit

you meet the 1% that still thinks Ukraine is owning Russia on Reddit

All of which spent their time on Reddit prior to 2022 wheeze laughing about how poor and depressed Russia is, even when the footage was actually from Ukraine, and then shrugging and saying "what's the difference, same shit hole" or something else awful like that

Xinjiang is a real place, like China, you can really just go there.

These cracker believe sincerely that China, like North Korea, is ready to put on an elaborate stage show for any whitey that shows up. If they even acknowledge that yes you can go to Xinjiang, they'll just say that Xi Jinping personally forced everyone to be an actor and pretend everything is fine

Not just that, but think of the division of labour

A Soviet canteen was being run by people who wanted to cook, and were being paid a living wage to provide food for their comrades. An American factory worker likely had a lunch prepared by their wife who already had to deal with all the rest of the domestic labour for free, worse if she was working because she'd have to do all the domestic work then actual work, or if not that they're buying it from an underpaid cook in a restaurant who's paid barely above poverty wages

Even better, there's nothing saying he had to fucking name a place he got his sandwiches from

He could've been like "yeah I love me a fish sandwich" (I looked it up and fuck does this Super Heebster sound kinda awful) and if anyone asked him to elaborate he could've specified like a tuna salad or something

But nah this guy is so American treat brained he had to specifically name a place and sandwich name
