My dad was very surprised that Toys R Us had a platinum edition console when we went to get one. In retrospect, not that strange that they had lots of stock.

Uritours site is funny, lol.
"GET A HAIRCUT Find out if there’s truth to the recent headlines that say there are only 28 state-approved hair styles. (Spoiler: the charts are only used as a guide, we’re told)."
Its a grouping of 5 smaller leftish parties, so pretty ideologically diverse. It only came together like two months ago per CNN, ad hoc when Macron called for the general election.
Their main unifying factor is not wanting the far right in control.
Just experienced the revelation that is spray wax! All the utility of a pomade, with the ease of use of a hairspray, but my hair doesn't get crispy and it's still touchable and adjustable later!
Its absolutely a game changer for me. I can style it with a texturizing spray, then spray it with wax, make last minute adjustments, and it's out of my eyes all day.
Brand is REDKEN if anybody is wondering. I feel like with all the trans folks here, a lot of you have long "awkward phase" hair lengths on the way to actually long hair.
Mine is just short enough in the front that a bun isn't convenient.
The good news is that increasingly, those that do get roasted in the press and even protested. But yeah, 10+ years ago it was much more common.
The dems attempted to pass a law banning this in 2022, but they failed to pass it before midterms. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/CROWN_Act_of_2022
Also it's not just wigs.. Hair relaxers can be very harsh chemicals that can burn your scalp. So it's a lot to ask somebody or require that they straighten it. But some schools and work places still do.
Still better than letting Samsung et al gobble up all my typing data, but obviously not better than the free software normally found on F-Droid. To me, it's a decent compromise between privacy and usability. Assuming it gets better with further development, that is.
Source available means it is possible to audit. That's all I really need as an end user.
I'm trying out the FUTO Keyboard alpha build on android right now. Unlike Microsoft/Samsung/Google, it doesn't require internet access permissions to provide auto correct, swipe functionality, and voice typing. In fact, the only permissions I gave it were mic access.
I already feel better using it because I have been wary of the default keyboard feeding all my data to large company.
It works probably 80% as well as my old one with swipe inputs, tbh. So that's not bad. The voice to text has not failed me once.
It's a Louis Rossman project. He's a mostly decent libertarian that actually cares about privacy, but without internet access in the app, I don't think you even need to trust him to use it. He's also a right to repair activist.
Available on F-Droid, Play Store, and obtainium.
Didn't he win the prize before taking office? I might be remembering wrong.
Edit: Nah, it was 8 months in. Still wildly early, considering.
Their only fig leaf in retrospect is that the full scope of his crimes was not yet known, although some were.
That list of content warnings is wild.
Balatro has made me accidentally stay up until 5pm once this week. Devil game.
