Ohh, nice one!

The first convention is common in English-speaking countries, but the latter is favoured in, for example, Sweden (tvåtusentalet, which translates literally as the two thousands period).

I'm not sure that's entirely true, most people in English speaking countries (and the world over) celebrated the millenium at the beginning of the year 2000.

And I would argue that support for Trump is clearly astroturfed, also. Reddit basically nurtured the community leading up to and throughout his presidency, then it spread from there.

Fingers crossed this isn't like Google hiring developers of the custom ROM community so as to undermine their projects.

Nah they do have some valid purpose, eg communal roads and facilities - at least in a country where the state refuses to adopt basic infrustructure for new housing developments.

Having a refueling station on the moon makes the most sense for interplanetary travel.

My experience in KSP tells me you want extraction and a refinery on the moon, but refuelling to be done in orbit.

That seems to be a recurring theme with right-wing supporters, they dream of it one day being their turn - no matter how far-fetched that may be.

That makes sense, but trying to square that off with the idea that the year 2000 is the start of the 21st century is hurting my head.

If year 1 is the 1st year, then surely the first year of the 21st century should be 2001?

Wind and renewables in general already out-compete oil. If you think about a traditional power plant, the costs can be lumped into 4 categories:

  1. Construction
  2. Maintenance
  3. Demolition
  4. Fuel

Over the life of the plant, fuel has always been the dominant cost. With renewables, there are no fuel costs. Sure, the other costs might be slightly higher (wind farms are in remote areas, you have many small generators as opposed to a few big ones - solar is still dirt cheap though) but the fuel cost being non-existent easily overrides that.

The biggest travesty is that we basically have renewable energy sold at oil prices, creating insane profit margins for renewables.

Also I have no idea what you mean by the IRA and keep wondering what Ireland has to do with all this.

“I hate wind,” Trump told the executives

And yet that's all he produces.

I mean the community is pretty clearly astroturfed, as otherwise no such group could exist while fundamentally contradicting itself. Being gay and supporting Putin just does not make any rational sense. For all their talk of CIA psy ops left and right, I can't help but see a pot calling the kettle black.

It's also far easier for the person with money to get away with.

Oh those aren't the instances you block?
