You're completely missing my point. I'm not saying he didn't take the files - he's already been convicted of that. I'm saying Valeo have not demonstrated in any way that NVidia used the material he stole in one of their products. They claim that in the lawsuit, but provide no basis for that claim.

The medical reasons are pretty dubious and could well be something made up after the fact. Also, the way the hospital lied repeatedly and even prevented a detective from looking into the matter doesn't suggest they were entirely innocent about it all.

This should be a slam dunk under Title II of the Civil Rights Act - not even because of the boy's Native American heritage, but simply because he is a boy and the rule doesn't apply to girls.

Yes I did gloss over the "threat of violence" part and just included it in general as "violence".

[–] TWeaK@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

Yeah the threat of violence makes it robbery (eg if you have a banana in your pocket but say you have a gun), just like terrorism can be either violence or the threat of violence to achieve a political goal. However, a bank heist would not be robbery, just like burglary or pickpocketing is not robbery.

Robbery does require violence though.

But they will use up a whole load of arsenal and buy a lot more. Money for arms dealers.

Yeah, the one thing I would say is that you can never be 100% certain what data is being gathered by closed source software, especially if there is an encrypted communication channel. Saying that though, Valve are decently trustworthy.

And this is the big thing that people who say Israel is united in their attack overlook, all the moderates in the country are afraid to speak out. The Pope was right, they literally are a terrorist nation at this point.

I hate how MSN hosts other peoples' news all the time.

EA is worse with data collection imo. Or at least just as bad.

Steam has always done a little bit of it, particularly their hardware surveys, but even then it's never felt so creepy when they do it.
