Retired IDF General Israel Ziv told CNN he had seen the videos and was so disturbed by them that he reached out to IDF commanders in charge of the soldiers involved.

“I was (told) that the brigade commander will punish the ones who did that once they stop fighting,” he told CNN.

In its statement to CNN, the IDF said that “disciplinary measures will be taken regarding the soldiers involved.”

In other words, they're only interested in punishing the ones that get caught, and they'll only process it well after it's happened so they can just deliver a slap on the wrist.

Someone posting a lot of comments in a thread doesn't necessarily mean much, beyond them engaging with the thread and replying to multiple comments as they scroll through. That isn't to deny their bias, just to point out that their presence and bias doesn't necessarily point to some kind of organised action.

Edit: ok I didn't have to (nor think I would have to) scroll far down to see that they are clearly a troll. The whole "it's important to counter false narratives", while clearly delivering a biased narrative, pretty clearly shows they're not an honest actor.

They don't log IP addresses, but some governments have laws where the court can compel them to start logging, which is what they did here. It was also a unique situation between France and Switzerland where the two countries have specific agreements when laws between them are the same, such that if you commit a crime in one country the other will help to catch you. With ProtonMail being based in Switzerland, where the court order was issued, there was far less room for them to do anything about it.

What they did was in line with what their terms and conditions stated at the time. Afterwards, they reworded the terms to make it more clear.

All businesses have to comply with court orders, and unfortunately a single user isn't a hill worth dying on. All users and fundamentally undermining encryption is, though.

Such a law is already established in the UK, complete with the "technically feasible" caveat. It really is only a matter of time.

You should use the original link as the post link, then lemmy will automatically reference the cross-posts (also the cross-post link will be instance agnostic so it won't pull people out of their local instance).

If you edit the post it should sort itself out.

Well more to the point, process technologies are owned by the fab's, and the fab's the US is complaining were stolen from are not American, so I don't even see how US technology is involved.

There are plenty of ways to check a link before you click on it. Hover over, long press and copy, or view source.

If you don't want to ever click on YouTube links then set your device to block them. That's your responsibility.

I don't use it anymore because my current phone doesn't have it, and I've had to buy bluetooth headphones. As soon as I get another phone with a jack I'll be straight back to wired.

Somehow I also basically forgot about season 2 and only remembered 3 and 4.

All of them are completely different from season 1, though, and I don't think seasons 2-4 were originally planned to be that way.

You're being facetious and ignoring my point. Seasons 2 and 3 were anthology, but season 1 wasn't. Season 1 was completely different, for starters they were all characters in heaven, while 2 and 3 were just people on earth. Hell, even the IMDB description only covers season 1:

A comedy set in the offices of Heaven Inc. When God plans to destroy the Earth, two low-level angels must convince their boss to save humanity. They bet him they can pull off their most impossible miracle yet: help two humans fall in love.

They ran out of material at the end of season 1 and recycled the show into something else. Now, it's an anthology show, but it was never intended to be that at the outset.

That's not what it started as, though. That's what it became after season 1.

Season 1 had a very specific pitch that was captivating. Seasons 2 & 3 were just the same actors in different settings.
